If I use a Bid Upgrade do I get additional SQM / SQD now for my flights?
No.
If I use a Bid Upgrade on an International Flight leaving YYZ/YVR do I get access to the Signature Lounge?
No.
I have a flight going from XXX to YYY on DD-MM-YY and the minimum bid is $ZZZ - what are my chances / what should I bid?
No one here really knows how Plusgrade as implemented by AC really 'decides' which bids to accept.
There are so many potential variables that it's best just to bid what you feel the upgrade is worth to you.

If your upgrade request is accepted, the fare conditions for the original ticket you purchased shall remain in effect and will be applicable with respect to cancellation policies, change fees, conditions for minimum and maximum stay, and rules relating to the accrual of frequent flyer miles. All other conditions will be per the upgraded fare class.

Sounds like an aircraft change and now anyone that was originally confirmed in Business, but are no longer seated in Business will show as being on the upgrade list.
Reservations likely won't be able to help here as this is likely all being done in the Airport PSS and not the Reservation system.

yup you’re right! Didn’t notice the aircraft change, 787-9 to 787-8, so 30 seats down to 20. I asked the check-in agent and she apologized and said same thing as you. She wasn’t sure about the refund though, the plus grade T&C seems like I’m going to have to manually request a refund because the reservation system still thinks I’m in business class. Wonder if I can get AC to give me a coupon for a future flight or something.

That’s pretty insane - I’d give them 2 weeks and open a charge back. One should not have to wait that long for a refund for something that was never provided!

brutal!! Did they give you a discount coupon for the troubles? Was your cancellation reason also an aircraft change?

Interestingly enough, they booked me in J cabin on a Turkish A350 for the GRU - EZE IIROP legs despite only booking PY originally and just having the bid upgrade confirmed.

That’s standard, cleared bid upgrade offers more guarantee than eup and allow for rebooking up to J on partner airline.

Hi all,
Completely new here. I have been reading all these thread and find them very helpful. Question:
1. I have a travel for 2 people coming up Nov 20. Is there any advantage to put in a lowest bid this early? I want to go from PY to J
2. How do one ask for help to look at the available J seats in the paid tool?
Thanks in advance

Someone extremely nice helped me with this, I owe one to him/her:
AC003/19NOV J2 C0 D0 Z0 P0 R0 O1 E0 A0 N0 Y9 B9 M9 U9 H9 Q0 V0 W0 S0 T0 L0 K0 G0 F0
AC004/03DEC J9 C9 D9 Z9 P6 R0 O4 E4 A0 N0 Y9 B9 M9 U9 H9 Q9 V9 W9 S9 T9 L0 K0 G0 F0
The only thing I can understand with these numbers are J2 (two J seats left - very low chance for me to bid upgrade) and J9 (9 J seats left - reasonable chance for me to bid upgrade). What do the other numbers mean?
Thanks again!

T-46 J3, AC shows 2 tickets left for Business Flexible oddly enough.
bid has not been accepted or rejected. Seems like most bids being accepted happens right or very close to T-48 mark so I’m thinking it’s going to get rejected.
Has anyone had luck with a bid being accepted less than T-48?

Here’s something I haven’t seen before. Mind you, I’ve never bothered to look before...
Put in a bid for a J upgrade on AC1122 this Saturday. Haven’t received a confirmation or denial email, and it’s now T-42.
On the booking tool, AC is still selling up two tickets in J (and up to one in Y). But the J seat map shows all the seats in the cabin selected. There were three or four J seats open on the map yesterday (and two for sale) when I placed the bid.
Any ideas why they’re still selling J seats with a fully-allocated cabin?
My half-assed guess is that IT has picked the successful bid upgrades and seated them, but is holding out on confirmation in the off chance the seats will sell. But there's far smarter folks on here who may have a better idea.

How are loads on AC 28 (PVG-YYZ)?
I'm taking this flight on 11/28. I ended up buying economy because the fare was cheapish, and I was able to snag 3 seats to myself last summer on AA (PVG-DFW); I prefer this to PE. AC has been trying to entice me to upgrade with weekly emails, and the bidding ranges are quite reasonable (e.g. PE starts at $100, and J starts at $350). I suppose it makes sense to put in an offer for J, but I'm wondering if I should try for PE as well.
