How to book an AC code share JNB-CPT

I hold a buz class ticket from YYZ to JNB in late January on AC and AC Code share with SAA. One of those deals from earlier this autumn. That should net me a lot of AQDs, close to 30k.

Now I want to add on return flight JNB to CPT. I know that AC code shares exist with SAA but I cannot find this information. Have called SE desk and they know zilch.

Any advice on how to do this? I plan to interline the 2 tickets.

You're correct that AC does have a few codeshare flights JNB-CPT (e.g. AC6858 operated by SA).

However, afaik you can't book those as "standalone" flights under an AC flight number. They'd need to be part of an AC ticket from NA to South Africa.

Note that this trip will almost certainly not net you 30,000 AQD's - probably under $3,000 since as you said it was one of those "deals" from earlier this autumn.

You probably mean AQM and for those you will earn 150% on your Air Canada portion but only 100% on the star alliance partner flight (SA/LH or LX) unless it was BA in which case it would be 0%. Coming from YEG that likely means something like 28,000 AQM.

you can book jnbcpt on united.ca on 016 stock but youre going to pay way much more than if you just book a lcc 1-2 days before departure, which is what i do and recommend. i dunno if you can ink the 016 with 014. but just be aware jnb is a circus with biometrics so book a 4+hr cnx.

This doesn't do the OP any good. He wants to book the JNB-CPT as an AC codeshare to earn AQD. Even if you can ticket AC codeshares on another carrier's stock, you won't earn any AQD, because the codeshare has to be ticketed on AC stock to get any AQD.

Thanks, but how to I add these to my current file? Is this even possible? Again I hold a P ticket in Buz Class all booked on AC or its code shares to JNB in late January. No one seems to know how to do this including AC SE specialists but surely there is a way.

Can you give me a list of the AC code shares from JNB to CPT and return? That would be most helpful.

There's no way to simple "add" the JNB-CPT flights to your existing ticket.

You'd need to re-book the ticket, pay the change fee and most likely would have to pay the current fare (vs. the original sale fare) assuming you haven't flown the 1st segment of your ticket yet.

You're overestimating the capabilities of a booking system and fare rules which were largely invented in the 70s.:p

This is what I did. I flew Mango and it was fine. I also second the advice to give yourself some time in JNB, it took a little time to get through security.

I know this does not help with AQD, but I figured I would give me $0.02.

Thanks but I want it on 014 stock for AQD purposes.
