That would have been so cool.

Love the 747 in the background. Flew one of those AC birds to / from the Carribbean way back in the day.

I'll think about this post the next time I'm uncomfortably numb due to a deflated seat.

The band built a stage in the hangar and opened the doors for airport ground crews to watch and listen to their rehearsal. It caused some delays but gave the crews a once-in-a-lifetime private Pink Floyd concert.
My favorite band and my favorite plane. Wow

I think I only had one flight on one of those. I was a pretty junior FF at the time, and just getting a seat in J for 90 minutes was something I still considered "amazing".
No. These predates the Amigo & Pineapples.

I considered it "amazing" that I could fly for work, on a BEH.
I also considered it "amazing" that I get to post on FT, a super FWP forum.
You might've thought it was "amazing" back then to be in short haul J on an Amigo/Pineapple, but I assure you that if you had consistently received the domestic 762s now, you wouldn't consider "amazing."

Just had a flashback dealing with a hotel confirmation issue.

Anybody else here old enough to remember when one would usually call in the day before a flight/hotel stay to confirm that the reservation was OK and if there were cancellations or changes?

No, but I do remember the days when we would call AE/AC at 00:01 of our departure time zone X days in advance, to apply for an upgrade to C! We would also receive assistance from other FTers to call in for us if the time zone difference was a bit challenging to deal with.

Air Canada 1986 UK Ad

This "Air Canada 1986 UK Ad" showed up in my YouTube recommendations. Note the greatest quality video but quite the TV commercial. Enjoy!

The return of the cup lights (onboard a recent AC92)!

I was the only one who chuckled and took pics.

For FT newbies, the cup/light combos were a common sight in J several years ago as well as a source of commentary from both sides of the fence.

Wait, does this mean R space used to be "C space"? Or was C a cabin/product?

Thanks - a nave millenial

C is the cabin code for Business Class on many airlines, what I am assuming is AC used to call the "J" cabin "C" cabin

Those were the days my friend I thought they never end.

Just booked a points ticket that cost a gazillion points

Made me think of the good old days when I did many point trips including three mini RTWs in first class for just 120,000 points, flying to Perth in business for 75,000 points and business in North America for 30,000 points. I also made a fabulous deal with Air Canada trading a box full of Air Canada memorabilia I bought for $50 for 300,000 points.

All good things come to an end 😥!

Wait what? I want to hear more about this. Did you initiate the deal? How? Who did you contact? This is fascinating to me.
