Yep. We affectionately called the 345 seats, "Wedgie Seats".

A340-500 as the first two were on YYZ-HKG routes
Air Canada was very excited about buying these and i believe they had about 15 in the fleet. Lasted a few years, they also licensed the Air Canada A340-500 models through Herpa.de
I wish I kept all of my pictures as I actually had pictures of the registration plate and the outside of the plane
I recall it was a beautiful evening in Vancouver as we stood on the roof of the Air Canada Hangar watching the evening sky. I should have been focusing on the plane!

With all this talk of the old paper certificates, my somewhat aging grey matter is telling me that in the first few years of Super Elite an upgrade with a SSWU could be snagged at the time of booking regardless of fare class or date of travel.
Was this true or am I suffering from old timers??
