Aeroplan now charging AIF on cnx ac flights
This used to not be the case, but having booked quite a few ap flights, anything over a 4/5 layover, ac has apparently asked ap to collect departure AIf even though aps rules is 12 hours for North America and 24+ for overseas.
Some airports, yes, have a cnx AIf (like Yyz) but the fees I'm talking about are the departure ones (like yyc's ridiculous $30). Has anyone had any success In getting these fees refunded? You used to be able to call in when online wanted to charge you the AIf on long layovers, but agents have now been consisting applying it. |
So charging a fee they are not supposed to be charging? I wonder who gets the money and who is enforcing this fee collection. Must be an IT glitch.

Not an it glitch anymore. As mentioned agents are now charging it (used to only be online) as per ac who is now defining a layover as less than 5 hours. Ac is getting the money.
So, is this a law that dictates when AIF gets charged? Or is it an AC rule that they have now changed. If the former, then it's "interesting". If the latter, then that's just what AC does when they need more money, I guess. then again, I thought AIF was intended to go to the airport, not AC. |
