A330-300 Fleet Overview

AC currently has two configurations of 333:
  • Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
  • The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
    • Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
    • Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

Thank you!!!! I'm really surprised that they went with blue PY seats and didn't re-cloth the Y seats, but it looks decent enough.

It is hard to believe that the bulkhead behind this is section has extra space. It looks cramped.

I've never sat in row 18, but from what I understand it has always been more about knee-room versus legroom, due to that bulkhead.

Row 18 on the old 777s before HD was pretty decent. But yeah as you mentioned now row 18 only has extra knee room but not much extra leg room.

Guessing this was more of a refresh rather than a makeover (plus the addition of PY) based on the anticipated lifespan within mainline for this aircraft.

Row 18 on the 333s always had very limited leg room.

Which is weird because it is marketed as a preferred seat for extra $$$. Would you suggest I change the seat for transatlantic flight?

I really like Row 35 - window seats still have a window and the legroom is excellent. It is close to the lavatories but I don't notice it that much (I've only taken the 333 on domestic flights though...).

I've paid for to sit in this row before and never would again - especially with how Preferred Seats are now priced. Good knee room, but no space to stretch out your legs.

Anybody know what AC is going to do with the PE seats during this phase-in period when they can't be purchased? Will they fly with that section empty, will they allow LMU's or free upgrades to status pax? Will people be able to access them upon check-in?

Yes. On the old configuration, I just picked row 19, where legroom was more than adequate. On the new configuration, they may have squeezed it to nothingness. If you are willing to pay for a preferred seat, row 35 may be the way to go.

Pos free upgrade for status pax until they are finished updating them.

For last night's YUL-BRU there were courtesy upgrades.

Nice touch indeed ^

Does anyone know if there has been any upgrade to the J cabin?
