A330-300 Fleet Overview
AC currently has two configurations of 333:
- Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
- The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
- Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
- Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

Are there any 330s in passenger service that haven't been refinished?
My impression was that they were all done (therefore making this entire thread moot), but I'll admit I haven't been on many in the past few years.

931 and 938 are currently flying in the old config. It's unclear what will happen with any cargo configured fins when they're returned to passenger service.

EdmFlyBoi, ChrisA330, I've done a temporary fix on the wikipost.
See if its somewhat okay, I was being very prudent with it, just in case...

That was kind of the reason why I didn't think the Wiki should come down. There are two in the old configuration, two in refurbishment/heavy maintenance, and one in all cargo. It may be the fall before they all are refurbished.

It was massively out of date, with a bunch of irrelevant information about the SQ layout and the old refurb that added PY. It carried a notice that @yyznomad would update it by mid-2020. So I nuked it. If there was anything that wasn't old and totally useless in there, feel free to restore those portions.

Your welcome EdmFlyBoi, that tracker was a valuable resource for tracking one's 333 products
I for one have used it a fair bit in the past.
If anyone wants to make a future edit, maybe perhaps link a couple seat reports in thread.
Kinda like the 777/787 Seat/Cabin thread...
And maybe a small asterisk on the ex-SQ vs. ex-AC fleet, aren't the middle J overhead bins different?

I received updated seating from Air Canada for an upcoming European trip. When I booked on the A330 the seating was 1-2-1, so I booked the middle two seats based on advice here. Now the seating appears to be 1-1-1 and the website shows two types of A330. Being as I don't fly AC internationally that often can someone explain what just happened? If it's going to be 1-1-1 now what are the best seats for a couple? I'm used to the idiosyncrasies on AA and BA, but AC confuses me sometimes.

So I hadn't flown a 333 overnight since the refurb, and I really didn't enjoy it.
My understanding is that the pods are an inch or two smaller than the nearly-identical product on the 777/787, but I swear the 333 pod felt altogether more claustrophobic. Am I missing something, or is the 333 pod smaller than I think it is?

Not in my opinion. Out of the 4 flights I've taken in the last couple of months across the 788, 789, 77L and 333, the A330 was the only one where I didn't feel a horrible metal bar jutting into my back. I'm assuming this is due to the structure of the air mattress, which btw seemed to be working just fine on all my Boeing flights. Yes, the A330 is a bit more cramped, but I actually slept, even being 6'1 and doing a 3h Florida hop for that flight. At bare minimum, AC should retrofit the slightly updated seat on the entire fleet, although it would certainly make more sense to introduce a more competitive product.
