A330-300 Fleet Overview

AC currently has three two configurations of 333:
  • Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): new configuration more in line with the product on AC's 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
  • XM: AC's old configuration dating from the mid-2000s, which is being phased out (seat map)
  • SQ (2 aircraft): Singapore Airlines configuration, which is being phased out (seat map)
    • Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have a normal PY cabin
    • As of October 2023, these aircraft appear to be mostly used on YYZ/YUL-BOG, YUL-ALG, and domestic/TB TCONs (e.g. YUL-YVR/LAX)

The aircraft are gradually being refurbished to the Dream Cabin standard.

I can't speak for the PY seat they are using but wouldn't be surprised if it is similar.
Sorry if I missed this but will the J seats be deflatable like the 787/777? Or did someone decide to pass on that option?

Got it; thank you! I checked their website and you could see the differences AC 777/787 design vs AC A333 design J seat.

I'm assuming no since the design also comes with closed unmoveable partitions?

Sorry if already mentioned.
The criteria for that usually comes down to: is there an impediment for evacuation? I'm going to say no, but may of course be incorrect. Haven't seen anything in print.

Good news for flyers booked on A333 flights! I rebooked my summer trip this morning to be BCN-ZRH-YVR-SFO with some forced-open I class
C-GHKW is flying to CUN this evening as AC1234. Tempting to try to get on it, instead of my much delayed AC167.

CUN for YEG? That's quite the swap! Just trying to do a turn so you can try out the new product and give us a report, or going to go for a little longer?

Well I could have gone, but I decided to stick to my original plan. I need to be home in YYJ by Monday so wouldn't be much of a CUN trip.

FIN 934 and 936 are both retrofitted and in service? A trip report or impressions of the retrofit would be great.

With 936 out in 35 days and 2 of the ex-SIA aircraft in QPG, hopefully we see the retrofits move along quickly over the next few months. You'd have to think they will have at least 6 (and possibly more) in service by the summer. Aircraft assignment will likely depend on the ongoing COVID-19 cancellations.

Earlier today C-GFUR was shown as scheduled to fly to YUL tomorrow, however that seems to have changed. So I guess there is only one of these fins in service, assuming 1234 goes according to FR24...

Why is J showing as 31 seats when the seat map count is 32? Have they blocked a seat for crew rest? Seems odd.

It's clearly a typo. Seats only need to be blocked for crew rest if flights are over a certain length. For instance, when they use a 763 on something like YYC-LHR, 8K gets blocked off for pilot rest. But on YYC-YYZ, that seat is available for sale.

After a flight cancelation to FRA, I’ve been rebooked on YUL-LHR. Just so happens it’s C-GHKW!

I believe C-GHKW/936 is not retrofitted; it merely received a paint job and probably maintenance.

This is the same window configuration as it had in Jan 2019: https://www.jetphotos.com/photo/9577633

Why, AC?! Now is the perfect time to retrofit and send planes in for the new livery - there are so many widebodies that are sitting around, waiting to fly. While it certainly is cool to see a B789 or A333 on a Rouge route, I'd rather have the A333s refitted, and having the B788/B789s repainted and maintained is a good thing.
