A330-300 Fleet Overview

AC currently has two configurations of 333:
  • Dream Cabin (16 aircraft): Latest 3-class configuration in line with the 787 and 777 fleets (seat map)
  • The "Merlions" (2 aircraft): ex-Singapore Airlines 2-class configuration (seat map), which are expected to be reconfigured to the Dream Cabin.
    • Important note: the front cabin on these aircraft is an angle-flat product in a 2-2-2 layout that was SQ's "regional" business class. On flights within North America, AC sells it as J; on international flights, they sell it as PY. These aircraft do not have the standard AC PY cabin
    • Since October 2023, these aircraft primarily operate YYZ>BOG>YUL triangle, and YUL<>LAX.

Especially with the bins being too small for even approved carry-ons to go wheels in. My 55x40x23 (exactly) only fits horizontally and it would be pretty messy if the cabin was full. I don't want to imagine the situation in Y, particularly with the people who think they can take up two entire bins just because "it costs $25/50/100 to check a bag".

Especially with the addition of 5 extra J seats.

Is that a car style seat belt I see on the J seats?

Moved the location of the J storage hatch too by the looks of it? I think I'll probably like that better.

Looks like it may actually be 2 compartments now. Several airlines with the same seat have opted for this storage option.

It is, but the shoulder belt is only used during takeoff and landing. Thank God, the airbag belt is IMO the worst thing about AC J (aside from the occasionally deflating seats). If they’ve fixed both the A333 will be my aircraft of choice... unless the 787s and 777s are also retrofitted with the modified design.

ACYYZ/SD , does the partition have to remain open during Taxi Takeoff and Landing?

I'm assuming no since the design also comes with closed unmoveable partitions?

Sorry if already mentioned.

Alas, another lost opportunity where PE does not have liftable armrests.

If it's like every other airline I've flown on with movable partitions, it will have to be open.

That's what I'm thinking too, but this specific seat model also has fixed partitions, so I don't know 🤷‍♂️

I actually like it better this way - no touching rears with the person next to you. Having them go down like the triangular armrest in J would be nice, though.
