Chorus expanding, reconfiguring AC Express fleet
http://www.newswire.ca/news-releases...577093851.html
Basically, five new CRJ-705s plus options for five more from Bombardier. These sound like new planes, not the Pluna used 900s that were rumoured headed to Chorus. At the same time, economy on all 705s is being densed up to create a premium economy class. The total capacity of a 705 only increases by one to 76, but Y legroom is being sacrificed to give more to PE (or is that PY). The 76 seats are divided as follows: 12 J, 20 PY, 44 Y. The planes will also be re-classified as CRJ-900s. All will have setback video and WiFi.
The Q400s will get another row of four seats, to a total of 78, 10 of which will become PE.

This is related to the growth plans announced last year, at that time sourcing of the 705s was not confirmed.

When I read this post, I thought that the 705 was going to get PY. No, as per the OPs link, they are getting preferred seats.
What am I missing?

Nice to see the extra storage space - bin space seems to be a major issue on the CRA. Any chance they will be getting ovens?

I'd imagine it would look almost identical to what Delta has, with different row numbering:

The press release doesn't say. I can't imagine it would make much of a difference though so I would expect them to be at the front. Preferred seats lose much of their appeal if they are located in the middle of the cabin.
Most likely they will end up like the WestJet config with the 10 seats in the first three rows.

Any word on when the reconfiguration of the existing aircraft will start? The article mentions they should be completed by late 2017; any word on when it will start? Will we see some of the changes in 2016, or will they start in 2017 when the new CRA's start to arrive?
