Aeroplan a ripoff

I was looking up flights with both United and AC on points and discovered that that the difference is huge. Not sure how many people know how badly Aeroplan is ripping people off so thought I would share.

If the OP is just learning that various FF programs around the globe charge different mileage amounts for the same flights.... well I just don't know what to say.....

We all knew this already but that won't stop us from discussing it again for the 100th time.

And that earning ff miles is different between ffp's
Freq flyer miles are not equal to earn or burn

I keep saying someone should make a big sticky about this.
Put all the sarcasm and snark right up front.
People select their grievance from a numbered list.

Excellent idea.
I'll order #1 and #6, "Aeroplan is a rip-off" plus a small side-order of snark to go with that.

There's a reason why they call airline points the "cocaine of the industry"......

Here's a good read:

Aeroplan a ripoff

Welcome to FT OP.

And you had your trial by fire. Or by tea warmer. Don't take any of the snark personally, it actually becomes an acquired taste... ;-)

But, yeah, you are a bit late to the party where folks have been hashing the subject often and for quite a while. In fact, it has spawned a cottage industry of booking services, blogs and more threads.

It's good that you see the light but I still find it curious that there are folks that, unfortunately, do not and will be in for a sticker shock. Or don't care..

Cheers
