Accessing the "old" website.
At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.
The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.
1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.
Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.
https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;

It's more than what I remember being available on the the old website, although it's still lacking. On the other hand, I suspect that having them describe every meal in every class of service when the meals vary according to destination might be asking for too much.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (BlackBerry; U; BlackBerry 9780; en-US) AppleWebKit/534.8+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/6.0.0.666 Mobile Safari/534.8+)
Nor does it accept the three letter airport codes, at least in safari. Well, actually, it lets you enter them. And the dates. And the 0 passengers. And then when you click to go forward then and only then does it force you to go back and actually select Calgary blah blah for YYC. It is like every option they had to make the site suck and difficult to use they enthusiastically chose.
Seriously. When a business relies on its website to book revenue, the website is absolutely critical. Aside from the backend app/db that it is accessing this is the single most important IT AC can do. And this effort is so amateur it is ridiculous.
Serious question:
What was wrong with the old site that was fixed in the new one?

I assume AC will be looking to FT to find out what needs to be fixed with the new website.
My short list so far (after 5 minutes of trying to book a flight with a Flight Pass)
1. The Flight Pass section of the website seems to be completely broken. (We're sorry... We are unable to continue - this session has expired. Please start over. You may require this code if reporting a problem to Website Assistance. RC=806 component=srvt)
2. The My Account section had my data, but also some fictional data (or data from someone else). When I tried to edit it, it wouldn't accept the changes. Now I can't even get to the My Account section of the website.

If I deployed something akin to the new AC website at one of my clients, I'd be sued...

CONFIRMED. The new AIR CANADA SITE DOES NOT WORK ON MY iPAD.
The AC site does not load and despite repeated refreshes, it freezes. When it loads again, you can't scroll down. You can't scroll up when it finally scrolls down. You can swipe up and down all you want and the screen image does not move.
I've never had this experience with any other site on my iPAD. EVER!!!!
For shiggles, I've tested AA, UA, CBC, Global News....all load fast and completely functional
FlyerTalk, with all its ads loads in a blink.
Did anyone at Air Canada TEST this on mobile devices BEFORE it was launched?
The whiteness of the page is so compelling.

ANA does it for the meals as well: http://www.ana.co.jp/wws/japan/e/asw...eal/#anchor007

Why can't they list the menus for each flight? They have a search for the inflight entertainment on your flight: https://www.aircanada.com/us/en/aco/...rtainment.html

Already done. Nothing has changed or improved. Swiping all over the screen makes no difference.
All the other sites work.
The previous AC website worked perfectly fine yesterday and no, I'm not buying a new iPAD
