Accessing the "old" website.
At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.
The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.
1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.
Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

I'm still in.
Let me know what you need.
Is there a way to get the High res off the site or the app?

Why would you be lost. I was just suggesting that the images I grabbed from the old and PERFECTLY FUNCTIONAL Air Canada website, should be posted at the wake.

Just got the old site back on Chrome in addition to Safari and IE. I need to operate in inPrivate mode in IE and inCognito mode in Chrome to make the old site work without auto-redirect, but otherwise I'm happy with the hack. (Thank you DrunkCargo.) Probably won't last long though.

I had the chance to compare the image and quality of my itinerary/receipt when i sent it to myself after purchase on the old site from Manage Bookings.
It had good font size, and was easy to read. Information was clearly laid out.
Then someone or some team at AC etc apparently did NOT do a page by page comparison of the booking process on the old site versus the beta, and worse, a page-by-page comparison of the email and PDF of the itinerary and receipt from the new site's Manage Bookings.
Because if they did, they might have noticed it's illegible.
While we're at it, the third image here appeared on a page all by itself.
Awesome use of white space. No information at all.
I have no intention of printing an AC ticket unless AC pays for my ink and paper.
Screen shots right off the documents so the sizes you see here are exactly as they appear on the originals.

But have faith -- looks like things are getting beta.
In the meantime...

Yep no more "beta" in the URL, so I guess it's official with a STCWN subject to change without notice in the fine print (my add). Anyway I just booked some flights and it seemed to go without a hitch except for one minor aspect, the site seems slower when pulling up flight requests.

Making a booking for 5 people and
The itinerary you selected doesn't allow for searches with more than 4 passengers.
Why not?
Your itinerary includes a flight with another airline:
- Other airlines only provide availability for a maximum of 4 passengers at a time.
Or
The flights in your itinerary are operated by Air Canada, but there are not enough seats available at the same price.
What can I do?
You can view our flight schedule to get an idea of the price.
To do so, start a new search for 4 passengers or less. Please note that the price may be different at time of booking because the number of seats at a given fare is limited.
Modify my search
When you're ready to complete your booking:
Call Air Canada Reservations at the number below. Our agents will be happy to help you find and book your flight.
In Canada and the U.S.: 1-855-831-1435
Other countries Opens in a new window
So if only 4 people are traveling I have many more options to fly to my USA destination PSP with air canada and united, as soon as I put in 5 passengers I only get the Air Canada flights to that destination PSP which means overnight stays in vancouver to take rouge the next day. I have never had this before or is this new? Is this a way for Air Canada to discourage people from flying partner air lines? West Jet will take us there now.

The new site is certainly not an improvement. I find it slow and inefficient. Not sure why AC deemed the change necessary. I gave them negative feedback when they were polling pax on the site but too many must have liked it. Unfortunately.

I don't think "abandoned" is the most accurate word for what is going on.
I also have a sneaking suspicious that this weekend is going to be an interesting weekend website wise.
Geez, more than one year roll out a new website - I honestly can not think of any other company that has taken the same amount of time to deploy a website.
This would make a great market study of how not to do something - cursorily as are most things that are rooted in Montreal......

Well, awesome predictive abilities, jaysona
Also, "deploy" is not the verb I would use.
