The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Accessing the "old" website.

At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.

The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.

1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.

Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

"A digital transformation underway at Air Canada is reshaping the customer experience in almost every way"
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

I've discovered an exciting feature of the new website! It gives you so much more choice in flights - flights that aren't offered anywhere else! Not on the old website, not on the AC app, nor do they show up in places like ExpertFlyer. What a really fantastic site, thank you, AC.

YVR-YYC tomorrow afternoon/evening. New site:

I also find the "new" site stealthily books you in "Business class Y" in some cases, while for the same flights the "old" site would give you a warning "business class is not available on..."

Including for AC flights, not just codeshares.

Also, not sure if you can look at detailed fare rules before purchasing....

AC Website

I know there's a huge thread on this but anyone found a trick to get back to the www.aircanada.com site and out of the beta site? It's driving me crazy trying to book stuff on there. The site is unresponsive (I have to refresh) and it does stupid things like selecting "Mr." for a female pax so I had to cancel and rebook an entire reservation. The old site, while not mobile friendly, was fast and accurate and easy to navigate.

Duh - sorry for posting this.

The form for filing baggage claims must have been designed by a person without real life experience.

https://help-aircanada.com/aircanada...ue.do?lang=ENU

There is only ONE field each for
flight date (I was travelling over 2 days)
flight number (i had 4 segments)
ticket number (I had several ticket numbers - and, yes, baggage was checked through)
departure city (well...)
arrival city
Baggage tag number (I had 3)

Attachments are limited to three (I would have needed to attach 12 files to satisfy the requirements listed by the telephone agent), with archives generally blocked.

And the funny one: Baggage tags must not have a number in the first two digits. How can we let Air Canada know that some two digit airline codes consist of a letter and a number? Of course this field is not optional, so you have to enter a fake airline code.

Oh, and there is no feedback option or "rate this page" on that page.

Okay, so I've actually now found a new feature of the new site I like.

If I pick eUp fares and select a say Q fare, it now gives me the choice to up it (with the price listed) to a H fare to lower the number of eUps required. Without having to phone in.

As far as I know, this was not available previously

It is somewhat offset by the fact that the new site works with such speed that it's actually slower to book this way than using the old site and phoning in. Well as long as there isn't more than 1mm of snow anywhere south of YXS in Canada.

Right. I was asking jc94 as his/her post seemed to indicate this option was a new feature.

Well, the user interface has changed with the "beta" site. =P

But this feature has been around forever. A great feature to boost revenue for AC with pax who must book flex or lower for expenses, pre-concur...

Are you suggesting that the tech AC has is autonomous? =P I'd be quite interested in how the likes of Hawking, Musk and Gates would react.
