The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Accessing the "old" website.

At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.

The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.

1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.

Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

"A digital transformation underway at Air Canada is reshaping the customer experience in almost every way"
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

Underlying engine probably written in COBOL

Sure.

My point was, issues with multicity were likely not new or associared with the new website. Probably old issues.

That has been my experience. A simple search used to be quick, now options are scattered all over the place. And although it might be my ancient desktop, it's also way slower.

I don't think that's possible. Doesn't the "underlying engine" run on TPF? TPF famously has only supported application code written in Assembler language. The only other possible language is an "exotic" version of C/C++ from Dignus which became available for TPF in 1999.

More, bigger pictures. Makes it slower and of course more so on a slow link and/or a slow computer.

Like always, priority on looks over functionality.

Things never get better.

My laptop isn't that old (4th gen i5, 8gb ram, SSD), and it's substantially slower than the old site as well.

How do I view the letter of the booking class?
It doesn't show the booking class on the new website.

Click on the + sign that is to the right of your first flight, the + sign is located on the upper right side of the screen.

I guess that's what I get for trying to help out someone while reading a document and listening in on a conference call. -_-

I'll fix the image later today when I have a free moment.

But presumably that did not ruin your honeymoon?

It's okay, the new booking engine was telling me that I couldn't look up any flight times for flights today (from YVR-YEG) since it wasn't 2hrs out. Luckily, Expedia seemed to show the flights.

Aside from the brutal interface, the booking engine seems to have gone down. This is going to be a real PITA.

A couple years ago I tried to book:

SFO-YYZ-ZRH-MAD // ZRH-YYZ-SFO.

I had to call it in.

So if the underlying engine is the same, then there's the problem

Sure. But we are not dealing with the new site getting even worse than the old one, which is really the issue of this thread.

The multicity tool initially assumes the connecting points are stopovers. So it will refuse to handle legs such as ZRH-MAD. Workaround would have been entering SFO-YYZ, then YYZ-MAD and hope that for that leg it would quote through ZRH.

The whole thing follows from one of the first downgrades, probably before you were born. aircanada.com used to work like any TA site, and they would sell you legs on any airline. Then some marketing genius decided only to quote AC flights and codeshares.

Mind you that probably was over 10, maybe 15 years ago. Has been downhill ever since.

For a little while, Lise's baby detestina would still sell you tickets on other airlines.
