The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Accessing the "old" website.

At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.

The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.

1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.

Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

"A digital transformation underway at Air Canada is reshaping the customer experience in almost every way"
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

It's possible you're assigning blame to the wrong entity.

I am not blaming anyone. I posted a screen shot. Everyone can interpret the image the way they want.

NEVER HAD these pop-up windows on iPads before the AC website relaunch failure.

I don't get these messages on the websites of any other airlines I book with on my iPad, so.........

"Our website is undergoing regularly scheduled maintenance.

It is currently not possible to:
Book a flight online
Check in for a flight online
We apologize for any inconvenience this temporary interruption in service may cause."

LOL, Reminds of the 90s.

Right, but it's my fault my iOS devices now show "not secure" warning messages, which it did not for the last 3 years.

Perhaps while AC is figuring out the next batch of enhancements, they can also clean up this nonsense.

Nobody said it's your fault. Likely a result of AAPL's security update to its webkit or safari.

It didn't show that message before because none of the information being sent between the browser and the web server was being sent via https. Now a portion of the website uses https and a portion does not use https. The portion that does not use https is mixed in with a portion of the site that does use https and the iPad web browser is giving the message as a FYI more than anything.

It's a big bugaboo over nothing really.

Thank so much for this explanation.
Not all of us have tech or software engineering backgrounds. Many or most of us are just end users and such messages can be a bit confusing to some, worrisome to others.

My guess is the person in charge of QA got his/her walking paper already.
Probably going to take another 30-90 days to even get a beta version alongside the current site?

So, as per suggestions made on how AC could have either set up a beta of the new site and/or invited AC FTers to take it out for some test drives......

Here is what is on SQ's site today. Just sayin'.........
