The old website is in the process of being "retired"
Leaving the below here for now for the sake of posterity and reference.
Accessing the "old" website.

At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.

The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.

1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.

Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

https://www.aircanada.com/aco/flights.do or;
https://www.aircanada.com/en/home.ht...ialSignon=true

"A digital transformation underway at Air Canada is reshaping the customer experience in almost every way"
Most of the old website URLs now redirect to the new "beta" website.

What a waste of time and money for AC.
Clearly not a great run company.
Well that's not entirely correct.

Part of the ITIL deployment management process dictates that an incomplete deployment is rolled back until the required fixes are identified and made.

The site should never have been put into production, but the fact that AC has rolled back is a good thing, and was the right move to do.

There may be room for optimism yet.

They could be bought out by AA/Onex?

As I am currently having technical issues as a result of my experience on your website and am not willing to sit on the phone, I have booked a flight for tomorrow with another NA based carrier. Thanks for the apology for the inconvenience of having to use my AE CC to pay your competitor... altho I can't say if this interruption will be temporary on my part.

Air Canada rolled it back this morning.

I give them full props on this! It's a hard thing to do sometimes, but it was the right decision with all the issues.
You're welcome.

Even going back to the old website they haven't fixed the pricing issue I mentioned up thread. Now they have also added availability problems by not showing availability on a connection when the seats are clearly available.
This "roll out" brings back memories of the rouge roll out... very "Mickey Mouse" IMO.
As I said earlier how do these guys stay in business???

It is worth while as far as price is concerned to start your trip in Sudbury, a lot more options and cheaper

Cheaper? yes but it shouldn't be. When I booked the connector fare was maybe $35 now there is no connector fare.
More options? What more options? Now they force you through YUL but there are seats available out of YYZ. They also don't have business/premium seats available out of Sudbury but they are available on the connection out of YYZ. Doesn't make sense.

Is this another IBM GS work of wonder? What a gong show but not surprising to see bush league IT from AC. Yikes.

You'll see more of that, across the airline industry. IATA and national regulations are urging airlines to generally become more accommodating and responsive to the needs of visually impaired passengers in all respects.
