Accessing the "old" website.
At the moment (09-Sep-2016) accessing the old and functional website is still possible.
The procedure to access the old website requires a few steps.
1. Clear all aircanada.com related cookies and browser cache.
2. Go to this URL. https://www.aircanada.com/en/go-beta.html
3. Click on book travel Button at the top left of the screen.
Alternatively for some clicking on one the following links will work for some as well.

Air Canada - I assume you have heard the terms "Beta testing" and "trial deployments" before? Or the standard approach of soft rolling major changes by notifying users to "check out our new site and please provide feedback, but click here to access the legacy site if desired". It also seems that no one bothered to test on mobile.
I wonder how much revenue has been lost during the past couple of days alone?

NOTE TO AIR CANADA:
If you want some of us to buy tickets from you, you might want to rethink this new overlay on your website that is sluggish to non-functional on many devices.

I still can't log in on my iPad and now I get the following message (haven't seen this one posted yet):
It is not possible to access our website in private browsing mode using this browser. If you'd like to access our website, you can turn off the privacy mode or use another browser.

I guess they *really* want to use cookies to enable 'dynamic pricing' if you keep searching the same flights?

SQ is currently doing exactly that.
EDIT: It did show a Beta offering the last time I went to check my bookings.
Just checked now and it looks like the changes have been implemented as there is a pop-up advising what they are (additional features)

After you log in, click on the 'Altitude' button in the upper bar and the scroll down to About eUpgrades and eventually down on the right it says 'Access your e-Upgrade account'. However, when you quit that area, you get a message that says we're sorry...error 403 (at least I do).
Maybe there is another way, but I haven't found it yet.

Forget that, it changes nothing and those of us with multiple devices that are current and clean already know that.
Did I mention my fingers are still swiping the screen waiting for the Air Canada site to scroll. Oh, ok, well then......

Should this thread have a wiki?
I was going to suggest a wiki to list the issues with the new website, so that AC IT could have a reference.
However, I think it would be more efficient to list the things that are working. Currently, that seems to be a very short list.
I also wonder about how secure the new site is. Something that is so riddled with bugs is unlikely to be secure. Would you want to enter your credit card information on the current site? I won't be booking anything online any time soon.
