An imgur/reddit user called "tsaritsyn" went to a lot of effort to write up a wonderful history of Air Canada's fleet complete with photographs.

Awesome trip down memory lane. My history and life just flashed before my very eyes
Personal favourite of all time - L1011-500.

The 767-200 (non-ER) is missing. An example of which was the Gimli Glider. They spent most of their life doing domestic transcons and were the mainstay of YYZ-YVR.
Also, curiously, AC had some helicopter(s) which they operated in the mid 1980s.
Don't believe the "but ultimately sold them all to Delta in 1991 and 1992." claim for the L1011-500 is fully accurate either. They were back in the fleet in the mid 1990s, mostly dispatched on longer domestic/USA transcons.
Definitely not accurate! There were no 737s in AC's fleet in 1997! DC-9 'replacement' sure, but 737 replacement, definitely not.

The A319 joined the fleet to replace 737s and DC-9s in 1997

chuckle so of the "extra seats" for the future delivery of A345 were in storage for years. The planes were parked and then sold/leased to TAM. Like SQ and TG who bought the airplane, it was a fuel pig that should never have been purchased. The good news was bankruptcy stopped AC from having to take delivery of the 340-600's, and an order to Boeing for the 777 was completed.

However AC did not start flying the 737 in 1976 as the article suggests. In 2001 they had one 737-200C in their fleet that was delivered in 1976, but to Pacific Western (which ultimately became Canadian Airlines) and not to AC.

From what i have found, it was from a heliport on waterfront (somewhere) to Pearson. You did check-in and security check at heliport so meant you saved time at Pearson. This was in 1986.

At the beginning of the discussion the OP linked to, a user states that the 737MAX will be introduced with AC's new "visual identity" sans toothpaste hue. Is that correct, and if so, what might that look like?
(edit): never mind, I found it. It's of course the new livery which will come with the new order of 380s.
