My last trip from YYZ-YVR was up'd from Flex G to H to get me over the threshold (and to upgrade for only 4 eUPs as I only had 10 left)
It ended up coming in at $1484 but I was pretty sure the fare portion was $1368. Not going to complain about extra AQD, but I would have been a lot closer to just hitting the bare minimum.
I didn't expect to hit this year when the AQD was announced as I fly only for work (domestic and US only) and use miles for all personal travel.
I ended up spending about $2K during EYW, plus another $2K of personal travel to get me there.
Therefore work travel was about $16K and even that was being pretty liberal with corporate travel policy.
I guess the saving grace for me is EYW, I don't mind spending $2K (and I would go up to $4K) if the reward will be 500K miles and getting me back to SE.

SisterLev was over 100K AQM but did not hit the $20K minimum AQD spend so she is off either the bottom feeders to E75K land next year.
Given that hat most of her travel is international, I have suggested that she explore UA and AA once she hits ACMM sometime later this year. She should easily be able to get UA 1K as a foreigner.
