Has AC just flatly zeroed out all R space to LHR for the month of September?
Could someone check YOW-YUL-LHR (AC496, AC864) on Sep 28 and Sep 29? Sep 29 to have the most open J seats on AC864 based on AC.com for the surrounding days and flights. Thank you!

Thank you! This is interesting. So I had a ticket in B booked LHR-YUL-YYZ and YOW-YUL-LHR, with the outbound completed on Sep 1.
Prior to seeing your response, I already decided to change my return to London to AC496 / AC864 on Sep 29. At the time, both the AC.com website and the Concierge agent I spoke to showed that I would be waitlisted (presumably because R0). Once the change was complete and I went to the eUpgrade website, it also showed I'd be waitlisted. Since I was still on the phone with the agent, she applied the request for me, and to both of our surprise, the upgrade was confirmed immediately.
Then I came here and saw the P1 and it made more sense. But shouldn't the AC.com website / Concierge agent be able to tell that I'd be confirmed right away given I was booked in B? I'm not complaining of course, but it feels very lucky that I happen to pick Sep 29 for this change. Could have easily gone with Sep 28 thinking I'd be waitlisted either way.
