PLEASE NOTE THIS THREAD IS ONLY OPEN TO THOSE WHO HAVE (I) MADE AT LEAST 5 POSTS ON FLYERTALK AND (II) BEEN MEMBERS FOR AT LEAST 30 DAYS. SEE THIS POST FOR EXPLANATION.

A few FlyerTalkers with access to ExpertFlyer are willing to use their subscriptions to look up availability for fellow FTers. Please note that ExpertFlyer offers free 5-day trials, and subscriptions are reasonably priced at US$4.99 per month for a Basic account and US$9.99 per month (US$99.99 per year) for a Premium account; consider subscribing as opposed to posting in this thread.

If you would like to request availability, as long as you have been a FlyerTalk member for at least 30 days and have made at least 5 posts, please include in your post:
  • Route (e.g. YYC-YYZ)
  • Date (e.g. September 5)
  • Flight number (e.g. 142)

Note that EF searches are by route and by date (see this post for details).

Hi all, apologies for this basic question but I wasn't able to readily find it via search. I am trying to create an alert in Expert Flyer for an AC flight that I plan to would like to book with another Star Alliance program if/when AC releases seats. For some reason this doesn't appear to be the straightforward process in EF for AC that it is on other airlines. Which are the fare bucket classes for award J/X that I need to setup alerts for?

Reward J = I
Reward Y = X
A note to anyone else reading, those fare buckets are irrelevant if you are redeeming Aeroplan points on AC metal.

Thank you, I tried inputting those into the Other Fare Classes box on EF, but when I submit it gives an error saying "You must select at least one Award or Upgrade class for the airline." The only boxes I can check are:

Business - E-Upgrades (R)
Business - International - Upgrade from O/Y/B (P)
Business - NA - Upgrade from O/Y/B (Z)

When I check those boxes, it gives another error saying "Class Code is required when its checkbox is checked."

Not irrelevant, just incomplete. Many AC flights *are* released as X / I, namely all the inventory shared with Star Alliance partners.

I'm quite surprised by J7. I would have expected less traffic to/from China given how difficult it is to get there these days.

I realized this flight stops in ICN so maybe that explains it.

It's a crew change only though, passengers don't disembark

Here's Why

Oh wow. Then I guess a lot more traffic to / from China than I would have thought. Basically only Chinese nationals can go to China these days, right?
