AC and CX business class
Hello,
I flew AC J before from YYZ to HKG before but not CX. How does AC business class compare to CX business? I ask because I just did an online booking and CX is over $1K cheaper than AC (May 17 / 26, 2016, YOW to HKG). Both lowest fare. Thanks in advance.
Ron

Hi Ron,
I would book on CX. I prefer the CX pod, the CX food, the CX service, the CX....everything. Couple that with CX being cheaper, ....fly CX.

Thanks for the quick reply. So they are equally good then :-)
The only thing I don't like is their schedule, especially for us flying out from YOW. But two of us is over $2K! humm.

Even with *A status, I still will choose to fly CX for that route.
Save the money and go blow it in HKG

I would say the CX experience is better. (I've only flown with them out of YYZ and YVR though). Their cabins are a bit warmer, but they'll turn it down if you ask.

Back to OP's question...I would also pick CX over AC for better food and inflight experience.

Another vote for CX if flying business class. The IFE puts AC's to shame.
CX has 2 flights ex-YYZ to HKG, one in the early morning and one in the afternoon. Personally, I like the early morning flight. You are naturally tired at 1am and you will easily get a few hours' sleep. By the time you wake up, you are already half way there. You arrive in the morning with a full day ahead of you. AC arrives at 2:40pm. By the time you get to the hotel, it's around 5pm.
Try to book CX's code share on WS to avoid terminal change at YYZ.
AC is at T1 and CX flies out of T3.
Although WS does not have real business class, you shouldn't miss much for that short one hour flight. On the return, it's more important because you clear CBSA in YYZ. I have never done a T1 to T3 or v.v. international to domestic transfer at YYZ, not sure if you need to haul your bags from T3 to T1 if you're flying AC between YYZ and YOW.
If Skytrax means anything to you, CX is rated as a 5-star airline whereas AC is only rated 4-star.

Thanks guys. There is no reason not to consider CX then!!
Good tip on flying WJ to avoid terminal change. I flew CX PE before, and did take shuttle bus to change terminal, no need to haul the luggage though. ^
Thanks again!

Actually I see the prices are identical for both CX and AC . Where are you seeing the lower price CX fares?
