Segments not credited

In August I was supposed to fly home from Sacramento via Denver on United, however United cancelled my flight and put me on Delta instead. I requested missing flight credit on AP including my original itinerary and Delta boarding passes.
Today I received a letter from AP informing me that Delta wasn't part of the Star Alliance and the segments would therefore not be credited!!!!!
What's my next step to get these segments credited?does anyone have contact info for anyone at AP who can help?

Thanks

I believe that UA has to send the request to Aeroplan to get the credit for you. UA cancelled the flight.

Please update if you can.
I had a similar situation flying LAS-IAH-MCO on UA. I discovered though on-board wifi during the first leg that the second leg was cancelled for mx. No arrangements, just planning to leave a deaf person stranded in a strange airport.
After some complaining on my behalf, UA put me on DL from IAH to MCO via ATL.
I haven't seen the refund of my E+ seat upgrade come to think of it, but I had given up on getting the miles even though my original routing was *A.
I'm not going to make another level up at this point, but miles are miles, maybe a threshold bonus.

reply back and tell them that you (UA) cancelled the flight and that the only way you can get credit is if UA tells AC/Aeroplan to credit. Please fix it.

All you need to do is send an email to Aeroplan with your original BP (UA), new BP (DL) and explanation of what happened.

They will then decide if they will give you the credit or not.

UA has nothing to do with it

I've had this issue before, and the only way I was able to get it resolved after many months of back and forth was to get the original operating carrier (UA) to send the request.

I sent an email to [email protected] (or something like that) and they gave me ORC.

This was when US rebooked me on AA.

Just call Aeroplan and explain the situation. They'll tell you exactly what to do.

Thanks everyone I'll try the email address Cow provided and see what happens. I also posted on their FB page as that seems to get responses.
I'll let you know if I ever get the segments

Update: I had emailed Air Canada and they replied that they saw I was protected on Delta and should be entitled to the miles & segments and will contact AP to get them credited

Good to know it worked out for you. Did you use the general customer service email for AC?
