Why would PE (lowest) cost more than J (Full)

Why would PE (lowest) cost more than J (Full)

Do people actually spend over 5K for a PE lowest fare when J can be had for under 2K (or flex J for $400 less)

I assume it's because Air China and Shenzhen Airlines do not offer PY, so this triggers some really obscure faring rule.

But to answer your question: no, no one pays that

My guess is you've found a glitch in CA's database.

When I search for only the PEK-YVR leg, return, on those same AC flights, I see PE at $908, which is about what you'd expect for that routing.
