Bumping Guide
At some time, we all want to know when a bumping opportunity exists.
- For some of us, we would like to know when bumps take place because it tells us that those flights are full and we will not have an empty middle seat. - Some of us want to be bumped. - Still for others, we would like to know if an opportunity exists for an operational upgrade, thereby saving an upgrade coupon. Whatever the reason, this information may be useful to the frequent flyer. Here's my idea: let's keep track of bumps that you know of (your flight, a flight at a neighbouring gate, a friend). Any thoughts? IsleTraveller |
Almost any major transcon between YYZ and YVR, YYC or YEG [and return] during the peak vacation travel periods [Christmas, New Years, various holiday weekends], and the rest of the year on Friday and Sunday afternoons, Monday mornings when business travelers are trying to get home.
Good for either bumps or op upgrades from the various posts made over the years. Though ex-YYZ and YVR, it is not always easy to take advantage of such circumstances since gate agents are too focused on getting the flight out to follow procedure to the letter: i.e. upgrade elites first. And tempers and stress don't always make them welcome even a voluntary bumpee. |
http://www.bumptracker.com exists, although there isn't as much good AC data on it as I would personaly like...
