Years ago. Nellie Furtado on her way from Toronto to L.A. to make her first recording. She was very young, and travelled in Business. We were back in Coach, but sat beside her personal assistant, and got to see Nellie collect her baggage (and sign autographs.)

In fact flying from Toronto to L.A. you have a good chance of seeing some kind of celeb. I've seen several, but I can't remember their names, actors mostly.

CZAMFlyer Jun 11, 2017 6:19 pm

Did any of you see this weekend's trending YYZ MLL encounter?

If Gene brought his Canadian wife, she'd be the most popular celebrity in the room.

Most beautiful at least.

Not in my books. She has had way to much work done and it shows.

yyznomad Jun 13, 2017 4:06 pm

Karina Leblanc right now on 119.
(Along with a WNT program exec whose name I forgot)

RangerNS Jun 15, 2017 7:53 pm

If Air Canada celebrities on UA metal count, one Lisa Pierce (Air Canada Senior Director USA Sales) was on UA792 out of ATL into the third world hellhole called EWR tonight.

Why would an AC employee be a celebrity?

AC 8064 and 216. May 7.

She gave me and 8yroldsuperelite an AC pin.

I'd argue that a mid-level AC employee would get more name recognition here than a mid-level movie star :p

Perhaps OP was being thoughtful and took into consideration the number of diehard AC devotees in FT. I do note that she was on the United, the airline that makes AC look good.

I'm more intrigued on how RangerNS knows what she looks like, from an AC employee standpoint. The only thing I can see is that this person was on the AC website before along with other exec pictures.

InTheAirGuy Jun 18, 2017 8:43 am

Brian Adams on Instagram, somewhere on Air Canada today:

I was hoping to be able to answer. i noticed her in the security line. Vaguely uniform outfit (navy blue, pipping), and the Air Canada rotunda... No, roundeau. Rondau? Aim point pin. Curious.

Later, she was one row up, across the aisle. I'm all out of book, her laptop was all the IFE I got. Ordering AC swag off Lands End while in the air. More curious. And sending emails with a 96 point signature. Ah, there it is.

Neither Newfoundland or Toronto has a credible NHL team. Toronto at least has hats.

yyz_atc_qq Jun 25, 2017 3:44 am

Since we're talking about Canadian celebrity sightings (not specificially sightings on AC)

On YYZ-IAD, and IAD-HNL June 22, Chef Roger Mooking

and on ORD-YYZ Jun 24, Nick Kypreos and a few other NHL types although I don't know all of their names.

This thread is for noting Canadian "celebrity" sightings on AC on in MLL, not just Canadians who are celebrities spotted anywhere.

AC forum Mod.

yyz_atc_qq Jun 25, 2017 10:22 am

Perhaps a change of thread title is appropriate. The initial post mentioned on AC, or at airports. Since both of my viewings were at YYZ (as well as other locations) I feel they are appropriately posted

YYZ Dom MLL just now...

Mark Messier!

Wow, ya good point, didn't think of that. Takes some of the excitement off the sighting...

Now there's a real celebrity. Was very pleased to see him receive the Order of Canada this year. ^

You, sir, are the sole person in Vancouver who feels so benevolent towards Messier. He helped destroy the Canucks when he was an Oiler and a Ranger. He completed the job when he joined the Canucks.

FWIW I hated seeing him in a Canucks jersey. I would count myself lucky to spot Mess in an MLL although hopefully under more pleasant circumstances.

A great player is a great player no matter the jersey they wear, IMO.

Yes, that would seem to be the correct phrasing.

Ben Smith was on board 406 a few days ago as I boarded.

There were some VIPs in J so I am assuming he was there to do what he needed to do with regard to shmoozing or whatever.

Not at all. There was a legit VIP next to me with AC*VIP on the BP and the SD doted upon him and treated the other status members like regular J, including myself. It reminded me that AC*SM doesn't mean a whole lot. :p :D

yyznomad Jul 21, 2017 8:37 pm

Saw Brian Burke (and his untied tie) again, this time waiting with the masses at YYC B37 today for AC223.

yyznomad Aug 8, 2017 12:49 pm

Stephen Brunt YYZ Dom MLL as I type this.

IDK if she is a Canadian celebrity, but Halifamous for sure. El Jones, AC626, last Thursday evening.

Barf. That would be a prime reason to vacate the lounge and hit up the wine bar and sit with the plebs outside.

Lol. Only reporting what I see. :p

So which player would you not leave the lounge for? :)
