Almost to 20 and Elite
 

Hi,
My travel patterns have been somewhat unusal this year. As a result, I am one segment shy of 20 for the current promotion ending 12-Dec-02 and 1833 miles shy of renewing for Elite.

Any recommendations on what round trip from Vancouver I should take to get 1833+ Q miles. I do have Elite NA Upgrade certificates available.

An ultra cheap Saturday night stayover to YYZ, or cheap YVR-LAX. Either would do. LAX would be quicker because you'll get 100% miles. To get ~2K miles on the cheap in Canada, you'll need to fly ~4000 miles because of the 50% mileage. YVR-YYZ-YVR in N/Q/L will give you 2078 miles. YVR-LAX-YVR in any class will give you 2180 miles.

The next segemnt is worth 35K, so even to buy a L fare to Victoria, Kelowna, Nanaimo one way is worth it. One way fares to Calgary are also great prices, if you can find the seats.

As for the 2,000... what about a Vegas weekend. Some packages include air on AC, don't they?
