DL does the TANGO

DL officially announced yesterday, after weeks of rumours, that it was introducing a low-cost subsidiary carrier along the lines of TANGO. Will be interesting to read the details and see the route system.

Didn't DL have a go (and fail miserably) at a low-cost airline a couple years ago?

They're still operating their low-fare airline, "express." They're going to overhaul and reintroduce it, though...

Read this in the international edition of the HERALD TRIBUNE and USA TODAY which were distributed Friday/Saturday in Europe. There was also a small item in yesterday's REPORT ON BUSINESS. No links were available since I had no access to the online editions.

The surprise for me is that Delta are setting up so many staff functions, i.e. Personnell, Accounting, Safety, Customer Service.

They are really seperating this part from mthe rest of the airline and subjecting themselves to more internal costs.
