Some strange things I found while searching for mRTW

YYZ-PVG (8 hrs transfer)-SIN = No AC YQ for YYZ-PVG nonstop
YYZ-PVG, stop, PVG-SIN = big AC YQ

Wasn't aware of any laws/rules regarding PVG on YQ (vs. HKG or Japan)

When do Airlines release J and F inventory

SUPER interesting thread. Thanks Jerry!

Not to highjack it: I thought best inventory was available at the opening date of the reward inventory (example 11 months for AC etc) I had NO idea that Airlines released J and F seats at a later date. Or that the chances of that happening might be VERY remote. More like if someone canceled their reward ticket and it went back to inventory.

This might explain why I can't find any LX J flights...

Anyways, is there a thread or a post somewhere that clarifies when these Airlines release their J and F inventory?

MOST carriers don't have a pattern, sometimes I see LX J, sometimes I don't

LH F I think is the only consistent 2-week release? AFAIK anyway
TG F - is it that one can book 2 at a time, then another 2 will be released right away?

so I won't attempt to confuse things anymore in the OP, since I don't know the official rules of the systems anyway

Swiss has weird releases. There's a fair bit of inventory right now that is only visible if you search beyond Zurich. For example, this May Copenhagen to San Fran or LAX is available through Zurich, but when searching Zurich to LAX alone, this was not visible.

This wasn't released on any sort of schedule, it just popped up as an option over the last 3 weeks

Also, try GVA instead. Seems to be more availability than ZRH.

Cheers

Sorry, a bit of a newbie question, lets say I want to book YYZ - PKT, I can only find availability for YYZ -HKG, can I book that "priority" segment, then call AP back later and add the HKG-HKT segment, without additional points?

Sorry, meant Phuket.

Pkt is in Australia zone so even if anybody flew to them, it'll cost you the change fee plus additional miles

Still, going from Asia 1 to Asia 2 is going to incur change fee plus extra miles, plus extra surcharges

really baffled.

just spent a good half hour on the phone with the following for this june/july:

yul-->yvr (AC)
yvr-->nrt (AC)
nrt-->bkk (TG)
bkk-->icn (OZ)
icn-->nrt (UA)
nrt--> yyc (AC)
yyc-->yul (AC)

ALL J

and at the moment of truth the YQ was $669.70
i thought going ex-NRT would have cut into a big chunk of that...

agent was as useless as.... and couldn't quite offer any insights.

anyone have any idea?

If Tokyo is not your destination, you will be charged YQ origin to destination, ignoring any YQ rules enroute

this is ex-YUL, not ex-NRT
BKK is destination
AC, NH, OZ, TG have big YQ

YQ refund on dumped segment

Hi everybody, sorry if this has been asked elsewhere.
I'm planning a one way SYD to LCY in P. This routing would be 130K but only 110K if I add a segment to North America. I have checked the flight to YYT it's within the MPM, but the added YQ and UK tax are 350 even in Y.
I'm wondering whether I'd be entitled to a refun of these taxes if I happen to miss the flight to YYT, i.e. Can you get a YQ refund on no shows.

Thanks in advance.
