Likewise, by putting a psychological $30 barrier up, FAR fewer take advantage of this perk, but frequent users ( high-value customers ) are kept satisfied.
Except the vast majority of TATL/TPAC YQ-free flyers are not Aeroplan members. But they're using the same space.

So it really doesn't actually help.

ANA further reduced fuel surcharges (wish others can do the same)

http://thepointsguy.com/2016/05/ana-...award-tickets/

Maybe I should look for ANA flights now

I can't find the new pseudo-MPM (or even the old MPM5) for YYC-ACC (Ghana).

Would it be safe to assume if I design an itinerary that is shorter than an itinerary I can book using Aeroplan's website, I should be safe?

For example, on AE website, I am presented with:
YYC-YYZ-IST-ACC

I want to book:
YYC-DEN-ORD-CDG-BRU-ACC

I would do something similar on the return.

Does anyone happen to know if LO ever releases more than 2 J seats a flight? I'm a non SE and I need 3 for YYZ-WAW... I only ever seem to find 2.

If I can't get that, then I'll probably just grab 3 in Y rather than add another connection to my itinerary.

Search segment by segment-

Ie
YUL-ORD
ORD-NRT
NRT-BKK

and try different routings

When you find something you want, call in a book it (and pay the $30 fee)

i've just been told that i cant go

a-->b (stopover)--> c (stopover)--->d (destination) in business, and then d-->a in economy...

the AE agent told me i'd be forced into business for the whole ticket.

true?

Yes, true. To illustrate further, if you book the following award:

YOW-YUL - Economy
YUL-ZRH - Economy
ZRH-BKK - Economy
BKK-HKG - Economy
HKG-YVR - Economy
YVR-YYZ - Economy
YYZ-YOW - Business

You will be charged for a Business award.

Aeroplan website seems to derive pleasure from showing dumbass options like that when you search for Business where the only flight that matters (longhaul) is in Economy.

Cheers

If economy is the only seat available you can take it, there is just no discount for voluntary downgrade

Other airlines do this too - not that that excuses anything - but the reality is, on long-haul flights, lots of airlines will release 2 business and 6-8 economy seats to award inventory.
