Based on my single experience last week while in YVR dealing with someone at the call centre

I thought the concierge improvements were supposed to be just that, an improvement? ;) Yet again another reason why I don't care at all that I never made a run for Super Elite. Guess I made the right call :D

Sorry, what are you talking about "concierge improvements"... was this another official party line by AC? What was explicitly documented as improvements?

I'm Asian as well, when I got to the agent I mentioned that they need to sort out the lines and all the parties ahead of me weren't SE he just responded with we're really busy right now... Isn't that a benefit of being SE dedicated access/priority lanes? Also the other priority line was being served faster than a

He followed up with you look a little young to be a Super Elite...

This is a situation where I would have called the concierge to help you wade through all of that BS. Agents in general don't give a d@mn about SEs when there are IRROPS, which kind of defeats the purpose of being SE in a way... the type of status where you'd hope and think that if there were IRROPS you could rest easy.

BS said that they are continuing their investments by increasing their staff. Eg call center and offering this service in more locations. If I weren't on my phone I'd dig up the post but I'm 100% sure

LOL :D

Never learnt or too cheap to buy?

"On My Way"

No lack of similar situations in the past posted here.

OP took the chance and lost. If he has bought On My Way, he would most likely to have arrived in Hawaii by now and enjoying his family trip!

It seems from previous posts on similar situations here that SE's verily believe that the Concierge can do magic for them, and therefore save a few pennies not to buy On My Way.

I 100% agree. I don't think it is said anywhere on AC's site that a concierge replaces OMW. Given the many posts on how a SE got screwed in an IRROP one would think they'd stop counting on concierges, especially the negative posts as of late post the "enhancements".

We all know the definition of insanity...:) :D //puts on flame suit. :D

It's funny, I got made (slightly) fun of at the last Do in Toronto when I mentioned I'll pay the fare difference same day or a day before to get home an hour or two earlier + change fee (over the phone). I don't expect a concierge to "waive" the fees for people who do this indefinitely. It's lost revenue for AC. Want to get home earlier or make a schedule change, pay up. It's like those who want to sit up front...pay up. Same concept.

Sometimes the concierges are nice enough to print my BP ahead of my arrival at the airport. Isn't that magic already?

Abracadabra, hocus pocus.

Absolutely for those who find it too complicated to print the BP themselves, or do not own a smart phone to load a soft boarding pass there.

While the concierge is busying printing the BP for the arriving SE's, the other SE on the delayed Hawaii flight is patiently waiting for the fate of his travelling family .....

:D

The issue was where I would call the concierge and pay $75 (or nothing on Latitude), you would call reservations and pay WAY more.

If only Pre✓ were available through OLCI...

And I am probably one of the geekiest people on this forum, but I don't want to (and often can't) use mobile boarding passes, although my reasons wouldn't apply to most of you. Also, is that even supported in the Android app? :p

(a) Yes, if you have been pre-cleared for TSA Pre✓, you will be notified at OLCI and you will have to either re-print your boarding pass at one of the machine at the airport or see a check-in agent to print a new one for you.

(b) Yes, on line check is available in an Android app, in the same app for streaming movies on an ACr flight. Tab check in button. One can always do a traditional PC OLCI and print the boarding pass (participating airports assumed).

Is this the same app that can rarely look up my PNR, and has never worked for ACr streaming? :p

My point is that there are various reasons one might need to print a BP at check-in.

I think we've discussed this ad nauseam. $75 + let's say $200 in fare difference = $275. This is around my hourly rate. If I get home more than 1 hour early, I bill an hour less - good for my customer, and good for me so I can get home. It's all about individual circumstances :) Happy to explain more at our next two back to back Do's :D
