Class of service bonus on code-shares
FT'ers: from the chart, Aeroplan awards 150% class of service miles (or a 50% bonus) for all business classes including "P" class.
Question: Would this apply on an Air Canada ticket in "P" class operated on another carrier? Example: Aeroplan only awards 50% of the distance flown on Lufthansa flights in P class. If the flight is booked in P class as an AC code-share - what's the rule? AC @ 150% or LH @50% ? Thanks so much ^ |
Operating metal rules. So in this case, I would say 50%
Code shares are notoriously evil when it comes to AQMs... |

On SA it says you get 150% for P, but describes it as First. I flew on SA on an AC codeshare in P. Waiting to see what I get. I would think 150%, but not holding my breath!

SA-operated AC codeshare in P earns 50%:
http://www.aircanada.com/shared/en/c...ileage_sa.html Oh well. I guess if should expect that if I can go to CPT and back during one of their busiest weeks of the year for $2619! I am a bottom feeder! Last year I got 125%, but I paid a lot more. |

Earning is based on carrier operating the flight; not who sold it too you. AC has put some effort into clearing up what you will earn on code shares. Your best bet is to simply avoid that non-sense and book onto the operating carriers flight number in their booking class.. things become a bit more clear that way.

The last post in this thread from April 2014 says P earns 125% as per an AC supervisor. http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/air-c...-update-8.html This conflicts with the chart linked above. Why can't these things be easy to find? Last time I flew on SAA, it took 6 months to get my miles to post after many calls and emails to AC.
