I think the World would be better off.

Also in the evening when they run out of cookies (my fav part of the MLL)

And on the note of kids, lounges should have a kids area. TG, Qantas all do this and it's a much nicer environment for everyone.
They do in the transborder MLL in YYZ.

That said, my kids know better than to be any louder than a whisper in the MLL or we leave.

30 or so of us had to traipse down the stairs yesterday after getting trapped up there - efforts to get the elevator going werent quick enough and our flights were all boarding. Fortunately one lounge agent didnt care about waiting for security escort - she just did it.

YYZ DOM needs call booths like the ORD UA club... those are a godsend

I was in a UA club in ORD and not only was this idiot talking loudly on his phone....he was on speakerphone the entire time.

So those do not always work

YYZ Dom is the absolute worst. I have no idea why. I've had to ask people to please turn down the YouTube video they were watching out loud at max volume on their phone so I could hear the person on the other end of the phone I was trying to have a (very short and muted) conversation with, and the shock and bewilderment on their faces makes me weep for humanity.

I've mentioned this before. In my backpack I keep an extra pair or two of unopened AC earbuds for exactly this situation. I haven't had to use them in the MLL, but I've deployed them twice in the BA lounge at LHR T5.

I would be very curious to see if there's a correlation to unsportsmanlike conduct in the business lounges and status. I suspect the correlation is negative (i.e. Family of 10 with flight in J to Santa Banana is more likely to be uncool versus the 100K SE who travels day in and day out).

In what respect? In terms of amenities, I would have to disagree with you there, considering there is a shower and other amenities I don't find in other DOM MLLs (i.e. a food platter).

But then they'd just assume that your dad gifted it to you

There were some wonderful fellow travellers in the YYZ Domestic MLL over the weekend.

1. guy drops nachos on the floor and then picks them up and places them back on the counter next to the nachos bowl. Unreal.
2. facetime lady on handsfree. loved hearing the entire conversation in the work area.
3. two 20-somethings and their guide dog, err, emotional support dog spread out on the carpet and then barking. Is this even permitted in a MLL?

Near as I can tell anything short of actual free-range livestock and human ritual sacrifices is permitted.

This is, unfortunately, quite common...."look at me, I am in the lounge! Wow! So awesome!"

Are these people being gifted MLL passes?

Well, there was that time at ORD where I saw a peacock in the UC

There's also the people who go into the lounge like they own the place. Neither are they the dime a dozen SEs nor are they the garden variety *Golds. Instead, they are flying on an rrorplan J reward flight to Santa Banana! In addition some "buy" into the lounge and figure their $25-$50 entitles them to be a douch. I would presume (and fellow FTers correct me if I'm wrong here) that the most common source of MLL passes are from colleagues who are AC elites. Presumably those elites have the same sensibilities of us on FT and wouldn't associate themselves with such bottom feeders

A lot of this annoying behavior would be curbed if the lounge agents actually walked thru sometimes and provided some polite 'guidance'. Its not really for us users to correct others in the lounge. I do not have to tell other patrons how to behave in a restaurant. I find they stay behind the check-in counter and the only staff wandering are the F&B staff who obviously are not going to correct behavior as thats not their role. Not looking for lounge police but a friendly CS agent would do nicely.
I have been in UC lounges and seen agents come up to people and tell them to remove their feet from the table and also to use the booths for loud calls.
