Boarding pass should be sufficient for MLL. UA lounges too, but I've had bugs with them scanning the BP.

Always good to have the card, just in case.

In the YYC lounge right now, and both soap dispensers are still broken. And only one sink works.

Makes me super hesitant to handle any of the tongs at the food station.

Lenovo X1 Carbon 2 FTW! (albeit my new travel machine is the Surface Pro3 - this will change your life)

Thanks for the tip. Both are great devices, however, neither will get me to 16GB of RAM.

I'm thinking of putting my lab in the cloud, and then grabbing these so called "manager" laptops/tablets to change my life. I'll get around to it...eventually

Good point. Maybe the X1 Carbon 3 will have 16 and dualSSD. In the mean time there is always Azure...

I'm honestly surprised that there isn't a drive these days for more RAM.

YVR MLL - Dom

Episode Title: Attack of the PlatePax

Approx 10:45am, staff were clearing away breakfast, washing serving areas and then started to bring out food.

However, vultures had descended and started circling, plates in hand (occasionally with a serviette). One person was annoyed that beer is only available at 11:00 and stated "Well this sucks". Another could not wait until the attendant brought the tongs for the cookies and helped himself with his hands, despite serviettes being right there. I took a quick moment to lecture him (because I can). He could care less and walked off with cookie in mouth.

Meanwhile, the crowd around the main serving station grew, more people with plates in hand. I thought they were going to grab an attendant and run off or something. Just too insane.

I'm only posting this one

(also noteworthy: according to several staff I spoke with, there was a huge influx this week of people using their soon-to-expire lounge passes and the MLL was overflowing.)

P.S. wasn't sure if I should post here or in one of the other MLL threads. Mods can move if necessary.

Speaking of passes, since no one responded to my offer for them in the other thread, I took my last 2 on my flight to YVR. Ended up in a very interesting conversation with someone who was a low-status person, as he had only recently started flying more for work. I gave him my passes. I hope he gets to use them before Sunday.

What's the obsession about heavy drinking amongst certain FT'ers? Certainly nothing to be proud of. Sorry to say.
