Aeroplan Distinction Sale?

I've been scouring Aeroplan and Im noticing that market fare under distinction is a lot cheaper than the classic flights.

February Examples
YVR-NRT 45500miles RT
YVR-SYD 75000miles RT
YVR-LHR 51000miles RT

Seems its only on international flights, domestic is still more expensive.

I guess that is one of the benefits of Distinction that occurs once in a blue moon. I recently booked YYC-OGG in pods when market fare was nearly the same as Classic Rewards, yet there were no Classic J available for months. I'll be bringing my own supplies to make Old Fashion's as they have not served Mai Tai's (as far as I know) for years.

Great find.
Looks like AP Distinction can be useful at rare times.
Does AP post these promotions anywhere?

Oh just to clarify this was in Y but I presume it will also be cheaper on J, provided you can find a direct J classic on AC flight. Oh and unfortunately im reduced to Dsilver this year so if you are Dblack or Ddiamond I assume the savings are more.

It looks like J is not included in the promotion (why am I not surprised).
Even on days when there are direct J classic flights available, the J marketfare flights are somewhere in the range of 310K miles for YVR-NRT, while Y marketfare flights are 45,500 miles.

Also, I think the rate for the marketfare distinction special is the same for all Distinction tiers at 45,500 miles. (for YVR-NRT)
I'm Ddiamond and they're 45,500 miles to me as well.

I always check Market Fare to compare...
as YQ can sometimes be lower...

...for all the sense that makes.

Defiantly not on the dates we are traveling. 27,000 more miles and a grand saving of $50 in YQ.

No, because that's a Market Fare ticket.

Only Classic Flight (and priority rewards) will have YQ removed, and only for Super Elites.
