E50, Zone Boarding & Mileage Plus...
- I'm an AC E50 until February 29th, 2016.
- I've moved to United Mileage Plus effective January 1st, 2015.
So I'm 'eligible' for Zone 2, but it won't show on my boarding pass.
Will I be eligible to board in Zone 2 by displaying my E50 card, or will I get rejected?
I'm considering buying a 'Preferred Seat' on an upcoming Tango-fare AC flight on a 319, but I'm not going to do that if it means I have to board with Zone 5 and have no bin space. I'll instead sit at the back to get Zone 3.
Thanks.

Yes. Show your card and board with zone 2. I don't get your ac flight question. Your an e50. You'd board zone 2 anyways??

My boarding pass & booking will have my Mileage Plus number on it, not my Aeroplaltitude number, so it won't display Zone 2.
My question is what will happen if attempt to board with my Zone 11 boarding pass, with my E50 card clutched in my hand...

Yes, you will be fine. The agent will see your E50 card and will let you board with Zone 2.
I don't even bother carrying the card with me when I board (boarding pass without Zone 2 indicated), when questioned, I just say Star Gold... and the agent won't bother questioning anymore. However, if they do insist, producing the card is sufficient to grant access. After all, it is a Star Alliance benefit.
