eUpgrade expiration dates for 2014 and 2015

AC has announced definite expiration dates for eUpgrades on their Altitude 2015 page:

eUpgrade Credits earned on or after November 7, 2014 will be valid until February 29, 2016. Additionally, eUpgrade Credits earned on or after November 1, 2015 will be valid until February 28, 2017.
I'll give a ^ to AC, not for the expiration dates themselves (since I would still think 6 months should be the minimum for credits), but for finally taking the guesswork out of it and also announcing next year's schedule.

they are also adjusting threshold eupgrades credits as well. I believe they will announce the change sometime next week.

They have. For over SE100K

I can't make this stuff up: I pass 100K for this years SE on Nov 6.

So I've got 25 potential e-upgrades that go out the window ...

And I have the flight upgraded.

So I know I can't remove the AE number - or can I?

Now pricing options on WestJet and will take that flight instead.

You can call in to cancel the upgrade. Then cancel the ticket. :P

Nothing too special I have to hide. I am most likely mistaken, but years ago I had my AE# and wasn't E. But I had US Air gold - she offered to swap out my AE # for my USAir # so I figured you could remove your #. Again i'm most likely wrong, hence why I used the terminology "thought you could"

I'm just repricing on WestJet.

Maybe I will be able to use my new found WestJet status.

Maybe i'm missing something. Why are you cancelling your AC flight? I understand you have credits expiring but you have the flight upgraded...why not just take the flight? Or are you just that miffed?

If I take the flight on Nov 6, I get 25 upgrades that expire Feb 29, 2015.

If I don't take the flight, and get my status/threshold with my next flight a week later, I get 25 upgrades that expire Feb 29, 2016.

Right?

just call ac to remove FQTV for you and you may file missing miles with aeroplan later on.

Remove the FF number and keep the upgrade? I think it has been reported elsewhere that this does not work.....

So in the ultimate silliness that all of this is, I'm likely to fly WestJet (with my new status!) Nov 6 to avoid crossing the threshold.

I'll cancel my original Air Canada booking and keep the credit.

And then use Aeroplan to get home (as the return day is busy.)
