Booked! Thanks for your help! As others have stated, direct and indect help through the sharing of knowledge on this forum is awesome. My first RTW in J with my wife. Can't wait until next May!

I wanted to start and end in YQB but that turned out to be impossible due to the lack of availability on YQB-YUL or YQB-YYZ. Anyhow, here's what I did:

YUL - ZRH (LX) J
ZRH - VCE (LX) J - on the CS100!
-STOP-
VCE - IST (TK) J
IST - MLE (TK) J
-DEST-
MLE-DEL (AI) J
DEL-ZRH (LX) J
ZRH-YUL (LX) J

Total: 150,000 miles per passenger, $202.15 in taxes and fees. Most of the fees come from the stop in MLE ($62.80 pp).

Not technically a mini-RTW, but another data point:

YYZ-BOS AC Y E75
BOS-IST TK J A333
IST-ATH TK J B773- destination

ATH-IST TK J A333
IST-AMS TK J A332- stop

AMS-VIE OS J A320
VIE-VCE OS J Q400 - stop

VCE-ZRH LX J CS3
ZRH-YUL LX J A333
YUL-YYZ AC J A333

115,000 miles per person. $284.86 in taxes and fees plus phone fee. I believe this would be reduced by about $50 if I could cut the BOS connection.

Updated Itin

Previous itin had OZ A380 F JFK-ICN but equipment changed to 777 no F. Was choked as there was no availability JFK-SYD in F due to this. (ICN-SYD seg was in J).

But today checked and CA has availability! So if anyone was in the same pickle with the JFK-ICN A380 swap out check!

JFK-PEK CA 744/8i? F 7 hr layover - debating quick trip in but been to Beijing before
PEK-SYD CA 77W F Point of turnaround

SYD-BKK TG 744 F (supposed to be new F) - 19 hr layover
BKK-KIX TG 380 F
KIX-GMP OZ 321 J - STOP

GMP-HND NH 788 J - STOP

HND-JFK NH 77W F

Pretty happy about this as I was quite upset about the prior equipment change, that being said would have preferred OZ A380 but I get F down to SYD as well!

Question: I need to redeem a one way ticket from New Delhi to Toronto in Feb. Dates are limited to either 7th or 8th. On Aeroplan I see the following list:

Turkish 777 to IST - LHR to YYZ Air Canada 789

Swiss A330 to Zurich - Vienna to YYZ Austrian 76W

What I want to know is out of these, which ones have a solid J class product and which airlines (route) I should avoid. Lounge is not a concern just want the seat (window) and experience to be great.

Haven't flown in any of these in J so not sure of the business class product and the reviews are scattered so couldn't make the top 2. Haven't looked at UA flights yet.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

If the question doesn't belong here, let me know and I will move to the right place.

probably wrong thread
somewhat belongs in Mini-RTW Questions
This Q has been asked before, look it up, or simply Google
both will have $$$$ YQ using AC or Austrian

Go for DEL-IST-YYZ on TK all the way if possible

Yeah, to echo jerryhung, you're gonna be paying hella YQ/YR on those redemptions flying OS/AC metal. Since you're okay with 2 stops, might want to check out DEL-IST-LIS-YYZ on TK/TP showing availability on Feb 7th. The TP equipment is showing A333, which would be their brand new (well, refurbed) planes with new J product. TP has YQ/YR but it's not as bad as OS/LH/AC. TK's hard product is decent but not amazing, but the soft product - when it's good, it's amazing.

Also on the 7th, you could do DEL-ZRH-WAW-YYZ on LX/LO. LX is good all around. LO's 787 J service to YYZ is supposed to be pretty good, but I haven't tried it first hand.

There's also the AI/AC option through SFO, but I would understand if you want to avoid AI.

If you don't care about YQ, there are better 1-stop options via FRA, ICN, and others.

Well, I finally bit the bullet and booked a mini-RTW next June. Going from JFK because I will be in NYC anyway.

IST-FRA - TK J - 22 hr layover - A320
FRA-HND - NH F - 18 hour layover - B777
HND-BKK - TG F - 14 hour layover - B747
BKK-SIN - SQ J - 5 day stop - A330 *Destination*
SIN-TPE - SQ J - 4 hour layover - A330
TPE-BKK - BR J - 9 hour layover - B777
BKK-KIX - TG F - 7 day stop - A380
KIX-ICN - OZ J - 12 hour layover - A321
ICN-JFK - OZ F - A380

215,000 Miles

Taxes = $485.30
Booking fee = $31.50

Yes, I know it will be hot and humid but it was the only time I could go (I'm even missing my PhD convocation!)

Oh man, splurging a little for F eh?

I will be doing a RTW trip of two month before I start off my job.
Thinking about doing:
YYZ - CDG (Stop)
CDG - CPH (<24 hour layover)
CPH - PVG(Turnaround Point)
PVG - TPE or HKG (<24 hour layover)
TPE - HND (Stop)
HND- YYZ

Yeah decided to use up the AP points I have before moving off to whatever is next (Post-doc, industry, etc) and I have an excuse of going to a conference in Kyoto as my motivator

Since I'm going through Frankfurt, if I see LH F open up FRA-HND, Might grab it to use the FCT since I'm there overnight anyway.

How the hell did you get this at $220? Are you super elite? Honestly the NRT-YVR alone would've generated that much I thought. Plus you've thrown in a couple domestic AC flights.

YQ from Tokyo is capped, and intra Asia is low / zero even on TG. So this is actually about the right amount. Departing Japan is very cost effective in YQ these days!
