It did not used to be possible to use Hawaii in a mini RTW as it would over on mileage, now seems to work for Europe origin itineraries.

With these new changes, how does one establish what the calculated mileage is between city pairs?

I was in the midst of planning a mini-rtw when all of these changes were going down something along the lines of:

YYC/YVR/YYZ/ORD-NRT-BKK-VIE in F

In this example, I assume I would use BKK as the point of turn as it's farthest from the origin? I was able to piece together a decent routing starting in ORD (but I guess it could ultimately start in YYZ or YYC).

Can anyone provide me with the calculate mileage for these origins?

Thanks in advance

For further information: stated mileage for FRA-NRT by an agent ('scomputer) is 9662mi.
Anyone have any ideas for mini-RTW or even just fun, long F routes from Europe 1? Even trying to push origin to Moskau doesn't look like it gives and TPAC options.

so basically its a random number generated to avoid FRA-YYZ-NRT routings

Not quite an RTW, but an odd enough booking to be worth mention:

YVRGary:
Outbound: YVR-YUL-IST-BRU
Inbound: TXL-IST-YUL-YYZ-YVR

Mrs. YVRGary:
Outbound: YWG-YUL-IST-TXL
Inbound: TXL-IST-YUL-YYZ-YVR

Taxes and booking fees included, a little over $200 each in J.

That's right, BKK would be your POT. The MPM calculated against your POT stays the same, its just that there isn't differing MPM for Atlantic and Pacific routings.

YYZ - LHR - SIN - PER - SIN - HND - YYZ appears to be bookable although the Pacific options seems to be few.....

I should add +949.56 in fees in the example I found for Y....

So looks like you were quoted a 'within Eastern Hemisphere MPM' (which is the more generous than the Trans Siberian MPM5 of 7468) and given an MPM3.6 instead of MPM5 which would have been 9786.

I have seen the MPM3.6 calculations on a variety of different routes now, so it seems like that might be the magic number.

YYZ-ORD-NRT, NRT-CPH-EWR-YYZ rejected

(the return is over the new MPM value for YYZ-NRT = 9049 miles)
