Menu and some pics on AC 017 YVR-TPE January 2019

Only had the first meal, so unfortunately no pics of the 2nd one.

Menu

Menu

Appetizer

I liked this most than most AC appetizers (which seem to include raw salmon too many times)

Red Wine Braised Chicken---would not order again. Spaetzle seemed cold to me.

Lemon Tart was good.

AC 3 YVR-NRT January 2019

Menu was the same as the previous AC 3 that I posted upthread on Jan 19.

Lobster appetizer. I don't eat shellfish. Photo for the viewing audience.

I didn't eat the garlic bread. Also texture was soft, not crispy.

Once again, I took the apple slices and added them to my salad. Sweet apple makes salad less bitter.

I really like this salmon, but I ask to not add the extra sauce. Too salty for me.

Also, some portion shrinkage here. Maybe smaller plates?

Mmmmm

Pre-arrival meal

I like the chicken but not the gnocchi

The other two choices

AC 4 NRT-YVR

Same menu as the AC 4 upthread

One of the PDB options.

I did not eat the hot meal portion.

Pre-arrival breakfast.

Enough with the dry, hard raisin toast. Croissant was warm and just right.

AC needs smaller bowls if they are going to shrink the fruit portion again.

I ask the galley FA if they can remove the sausage before cooking.

This omelette had mushrooms inside.

Looking at the picture, at first I thought that was the ice you picked from your fruit plate in order to chill your champagne.

LOLL, no, but......

Dear AC
I’m up here for another 13 hours
I’d like to enjoy my salmon before the cheese and fruit show up

And I’m still working on my not-so-warm nuts
lol

Which items on the HKG menus have you not tried yet? What's your favourite so far? I've lost track.

AC just changed the menu slightly from my Jan 24 flight

Same lobster appetizer, cheese options that never change and the same lemon tart.

The salmon changed. AC.com has the menu for today’s flight

I’m still working on my nuts #.teamcashew. Lol

plus

Were the plates warm or cold? or lukewarm? or soft-landing-hot (oh wait, you haven't landed yet - am I qualified to say that?)?
Was today's the salmon the best salmon you've ever had on AC?

More importantly, do you have SD Breadman servicing your flight?

As has been mentioned frequently here, not all routes are available

As you recall, SD “we have no bread on this flight” was on our AC 4 in Nov 2915. I don’t think I’ve seen him since but the green herb bandit is definitely still out there.

The salmon was fine. It was warm. I prefer the one from last week with the sriracha sauce.

What @24left said above.

It seems to most of us here that there is no rhyme or reason (I'm sure AC knows) as to why the menus are sporadically posted, which is why we keep on posting first-hand-experience (e.g. photo, typed out, etc.) menus in this thread.

AC 15 YYZ-HKG February 2019

New-ish menu since January.

Warm bubbles to go with the warm nuts.

A warm bubble cure

I know the fashion police would be outraged.

AC really needs to offer a non-shellfish 2nd choice for the appetizer.

Like previous flights, I put the apple slices in my salad.

The menu said this salmon dish came with lime-chili sauce. I find many of the sauces to be too salty, I asked the galley FA for no added sauce if possible. This was just fine.

AC 8 HKG-YVR February 2019

Cheers with travel buddy.

The ex-HKG mini-baguette roll and the multi-grain are nice.

I ate the salsa, very nice. My travel buddy was happy to take the prawns.

Not bad actually. Meat was soft, easy to cut. Veggies were crisp. All items had flavour.

Cheese selection ex-HKG is so much better than ex-Canada. Not news of course.

Love the watermelon too.

We both liked this photo.

New dessert ex-HKG.. Date nut cake. Actually nice, tasty and not fluffy faux cream stuff.

Pre-arrival brunch

We shared partially frozen bubbles - which were awesome with the chilled Kit Kats.

Perfect "apéritif"

I loved this shot.

Boudoir photo of the muffin.

I skipped the hot meal but as always, these were the options.
