The drawers of all bars containing pop, pop trolleys, and pop carriers are standardized and adding more of one means reducing another. When I was but a young boy, I remember getting a hot meal in Y on transcons.

I can only imagine how much galley space that required.

You talk as if adding Diet Gingerale means you MUST remove something else. I guess I agree.

Maybe that something else should be a seat

And the Citizens of your adopted Country still ask for Dr. Pepper, Mountain Dew & Tahiti Treat.
Talk about a sugar buzz.

Tahiti Treat?

Now there's a blast from my sugar (and cavity) filled youth.

Is the orange and apple juice served in international J minute maid? I'd be very impressed if they could serve some fresh juices/smoothies like other J cabins. Kombucha would be a real treat. Seems like drink options are limited to mediocre alcohols and pure sugar drinks.
I noticed on my flight to HKG that they were serving Simply Orange juice in J and MinuteMaid Oj in Y

yup I noted that on ac3 today. OJ was good.

My specific meal/drink comments-

- still a lack of drink options. Give me different juices, virgin cocktails
- alcoholic need to step up. Jw black doesnt cut it when marketing a new signature service.
- no hot drinks could be served when seatbelt sign on?? 9hrs into a flight and just waking up and being told no chance of coffee is ridiculous in J. FA said with 90min to go in the flight that seatbelt sign will be on until landing. Make it and ice it and give it to me.

- hawksworth duck is terrible. I eat at the resto few times a year and its great. This duck does not do the restaurant justice. Wife thought the same
- the second lighter meal was delicious- ginger chicken with couscous
- kitkats disappeared so fast but saw a couple stashed in the galley when going to use lavs

the signature service rebrand is more marketing than substance

July menus are now available. Pretty much a totally new menu for eastern TATL. Only the beef and the mixed greens remain as is. Main appetizer will be smoked duck, duck replaced by chicken byriani - with cashew nuts, the fish is the signature dish - sablefish, pastas are ravioli and desert is a lemon cheesecake

Huh... But the sugar tart was only there for 1-2 months?

Surely that must be a mistake given how long the old Hawksworth chocolate cake lasted...

Changes indeed.....except, that beef has been around for a long, long time

It seems the cheese will never change. Or the ex-Canada salad.
A few I know told me they found the mid-flight Chicken Parmesan Sandwich to be seriously meh, yet it is still around.

Sounds good!^

And interesting to see AC offering a pork dish ex-Canada as one of the main options - I don't recall ever seeing a pork main option ex-Canada.

In Dec 2015 on my AC 15, pork stir-fry was one of the options.

Finally Hawksworth is coming up with the black cod the way it's supposed to be, miso-marinated. Instead of these overpowering sauces that detract from the fish.

Glad to see it features also on our next flight out of YYC.

Quick note and photos will follow when I have time

Just had the new Miso sablefish on AC 17
It was great.

New cheesecake dessert is quite quite nice but the pieces were tiny, lol

AC 827 WAW-YYZ 1130-1435 767-300

PDB of champagne, water or OJ

If you'd told me there was a AC signature cocktail with maple syrup I'd have thought you were being funny. But there is and it's not half bad

Decent salmon dish but there wasn't enough of it. Also, an uninspiring salad

The chicken was actually really good, good flavor from the topping too

I'm not sure what that green cheese is and I'm not sure I want to know

Pie was tasty

The second meal was a bad joke. Cold and tasteless chicken with couscous, crackers, orange slices? Felt like a school cafeteria.

I would like another choice of salad dressing - I'm tired of balsamic vinaigrette
