INSPASS status

Are there any INSPASS users out there? How has the status of the machines been through the last six months -- mostly "in order" or "out of order"....?

Related to this -- in Toronto, INSPASS is beyond the public, i.e. you have to be past the first security agent checking for tickets. I'd like to go apply, but don't have a flight scheduled yet. (I have a valid TN VISA in my passport for 1 year.) Is it possible to visit the INSPASS office just inside the US area, without being on a flight? Note that it is prior to the customs desk and well prior to security.....

Bring your passport.I see no reason why you could not get a Inspass if not flying.(question is how to get to their office without a boarding pass)
There have been no problems this year to date.1 machine down, the other working.
Definately saves time in the busy a.m. and p.m.departure rushes.
