Fetch R2D2. We need to send him a message.

Save us ol' Ben, you're our only hope.

Some people here like to kill the messenger from behind the FT shields.

Cheap attack and then run back and hide behind some house built of hay.

It's barely half a dozen individuals that would attack Ben for posting that he saved a puppy from a car for disrupting traffic.

It's disappointing that both Ben's no longer participate.

Ok, so as I said - "some".

What was the last straw that sent him away?

If I were them I wouldn't return, at least trying to be candid as Ben has before (people just jumped on him for that, I'm still being forced to read about X elite cheaping of Y or Z... Or J ). I don't think the positive things they are able to add clarity to outweigh the negativity on anything they post by those certain half-dozen people.

Looking at threads they have added to, I think they tend to spin more negative than if they just stayed out.

I'm not so sure, when they were adding a lot over the years well between the Ben's and Andrew it seems to have been generally constructive and helpful. I know I really appreciated the insight.

Have to admit though for a while the site was taking a real negative spin and bit got a bit tired - it even made me take a break for a while, just didn't find the discussions interesting or informative. The negativity seems to have died down a bit now though.

Who knows. Hopefully they're still watching, and will weigh in again eventually.

It's summer, he's allowed a vacation. Either a real one or from FT.

Because he has nothing useful to say which isn't immediately exposed as PR spin or an outright lie or deception.

Why do we need anyone (corporate or customer) to post nonsense on this board?

I hope they stay away til they have some announcement to make which aren't "subject to change without notice" or preceded with probabilistic modifiers.

Don't ask for examples please. Fuel charges which aren't related to the price of fuel and IKK which may be limited at certain times or codeshare business seats in Y cabin are just some of those mysteries which would be easy to resolve but aren't.

Oh and the filthy planes.

I wish there was a thread where those of us who wanted to hear from Ben, could ... and those who didn't want to hear from Ben, weren't forced to read it.

Anyway, I'm sure that's what the problem is - it's a FlyerTalk & technology problem.

The only other explanation I could come up with, would imply that someone was being
and I can't believe that would describe any of the fine folk here on FT.

Ben is out for a week, panic ensues on FT-AC.

He'll be back folks, he will be back. He is (after all) our only hope.

The message to ol' Ben has been sent. The loudmouth dirty dozen did not detect the droid, as they thought that the pod was empty.

Well, first of all, it is summer now and I wouldn't be surprised if Ben L wants to take time off and enjoy life. Secondly, his job is at Air Canada, not here. If he has his hands full at his day job, I would not expect him to spend time here. Besides, if he is already taking on stress at his day job, why come here and subject himself to further emotional abuse?

I feel bad for the official AC reps here, as they need to defend a slimy corporation's every move. They genuinely want to provide helpful information, but the top guys in their corporate echelon just keep throwing them under the bus by introducing 'enhancements' that further alienate their customers. Being the official AC reps meant that they can't speak freely, unlike their front line colleagues here who aren't given the 'official reps' in their FT handle.

Who are the frontline colleagues here?

I only know of ACYYZ/SD, and he too seems to control his posts carefully.

I wonder how I would react if like one day I find out that half the regular posters here were AC employees. I would be so confused at life.
