AC :new in-flight programming

FYI From an AC communique

Air Canada And Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting Team Up To Provide New In-Flight
Programming. Today, Air Canada and Alliance Atlantis Broadcasting announced an
exclusive agreement that will have the Canadian broadcaster provide programming
from its analog and digital specialty networks for all Air Canada flights of 90
minutes or more. Starting next month, Alliance Atlantis will provide a new,
half-hour in-flight magazine-style program featuring fully branded content
exclusively from Alliance Atlantic networks, in addition to select full-length
Canadian programs from such channels as HGTV Canada, Food Network Canada, Life
Network, History Television, National Geographic Channel and the Independent
Film Channel. The new programming partnership is managed by Spafax In-flight
Television Services on behalf of Air Canada.

I'm going to miss the three year old re-runs of "Everybody Love's Raymond" especially the one where Deborah thinks Ray has done something insulting to her but it turns out he was just trying to be funny...

I wonder if they'll do a special on the culinary delights of a packet of pretzels and half a can of Coke http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

Speaking of pretzels ... AC, please, please, please get rid of the Bretzels things and get some higher quality snacks. Even the UA snack mix was a tad more pallatable than the AC stuff.

Does this agreement impact the type of selection of full-length movies?

a half can of Coke? I ALWAYS ask for a 'can of Coke or Sprite' and a glass of ice. There has to one or two perks left, right? http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/smile.gif

This is unlikely to change the feature film line-up. In any case, Alliance Atlantis is also Canada's major distributor of Hollywood movies to cinemas and TV, as well as features from around the world. AC's inflight programming service likely already acquires most features through them.
