I suspect its because the agent is res agent of TK and really they don't know much other than Miles and Smiles.

Thanks, it seems to have entered OK as AC. Not a Turkish agency, it was a travel agent in Thamel, the backpacker district of Kathmandu. Not a lot of frequent flyers around there. On the other hand, he did think my ticket was overpriced (one way for the following day, so he spent the whole hour before the ticket-by time hitting retry on the waitlist for a cheaper fare. In vain, because IST-TAS is a shopping flight, and always sold out of cheap seats well in advance. KTM-IST-TAS is a strange routing, But I prefer IST to DEL for a layover. And the other possible routes needed visas I don't have or horrible long stays in bad airports, or Urumchi on a Chinese carrier (not a safe option).

So thanks for the code, I only get about 70 percent success on Turkish anyway because my home airport, TAS, is an "off-line" station, and I can never seem to get credit, especially for early morning outbound flights.
