Priority Reservation Waitlist-real world experience needed
I'm on a Latitude (B) ticket YLW-YVR next week. I want to get home on any one of three earlier flights that day, all sold out (Y0).
When I phoned to be added to the Priority Reservation Waitlist, after some time on hold, I was told that I would get an e-mail if space opened up, but that I would have to call in to confirm.
Are they doing this right?
If not, what should I tell the agents to help guide them through the process?
Thaks all.

the reason they do that is people used to change their minds then complain because they were cancelled off their original reservations without any option of taking it or not. That is why if you are cleared off the waitlist you have to confirm you still want the new flight then they will cancel you off the old one.

Hard to say really.
They did call me to offer me the alternate booking.
I missed the call and had to phone reservations back. That was a bit of a gong show. Though helpful, the agent was incredulous I had four reservations that day. Took 20 minutes.
