If I had to guess, I'd say it's because you're in YEG.

Yes, I am thinking that it is based on the home location.

AC/AE knows YOW is my home base and I got the email. Do they presume I'd do a short hop to either YUL or YYZ and then connect?

I received the recent YYZ-YVR/YYC flights happening in mid July.

Not a bad promo given the high(er0 summer fares we're looking at. Plus they are offering fee meals and drinks (could be worth an additional 25-50 value if its open bar), 2 free checked bags, waived phone fee, but ugly departure times ex-yyz (7am).

Might be useful for some who don't value stopover or creative routings

You could do a short hop to YVR to catch the inbound yvr-yyz flight. Aside from managing expectations the marginal cost to send out additional emails to "maybe" interested distinction members is near zero.

Do these flight have regular AE scamcharges and fees? It seems like you MUST call in for reso's.

$25 bar credit when you stay at Fairmont.
Free breakfast for two when you stay at Fairmont.
1500 bonus miles per eligible round trip.

There are more, but those are the perks I've found useful.

There are some more beyond what is listed above...but you need to bend over for them.
