Cabin Layout
Interior Specs can be found here https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/fleet.html
- Window seats may feel narrower to come as the armrests are placed "into" the "curvature" of the cabin.
- Seats with no windows feel even more narrower as there is no space created by the curvature of window.
- All bulkhead seats have very limited legroom.
- Seats 15A, 16A, 16F, 17A and 17F have limited windows.
- Exit rows 19 and 20 have more legroom than regular preferred seats.
Routes
The 737 MAX is designated to replace the A320-series. Based on announcements and schedule updates, the following specific routes will be operated by the 737 MAX in future:
YYZ-LAX (periodic flights)
YYZ-SNN (new route)
YUL-DUB (new route)
YYZ/YUL-KEF (replacing Rouge A319)
YYT-LHR (replacing Mainline A319)
YHZ-LHR (replacing Mainline B767)
Hawaii Routes YVR/YYC (replacing Rouge B767)
Many domestic trunk routes (YYZ, YVR, YUL, YYC) now operated by 7M8, replacing A320 family

@tehdee: I've not been that far back in a 7M8, but the pictures of it from the outside would indicate it has two exit windows, so, two exit rows.
If you want leg room, go either exit row. With the non-moving armrests, if you want ... room, go for any of the other preferred rows.

thanks for the quick reply @RangerNS!
eUpgrade just cleared, so looks like i wont be that far back either
Slight consolation for a 6 hour flight on this metal. Though I loved the IFE on Delta product and YYZ-LHR dreamliner...we'll see if that compensates for width and pitch and other loudly voiced concerns re: 7M8

because of a timetable change and an illegal connection im now flying YUL-->LAX on 7M8 instead of my originally scheduled YUL-->SFO on A320 later this week.
with ROW 20 snagged (except for window, a no-go) is 19 aisle any better than 17 or 18 as far as pitch/legroom? or is 20 the only "true exit row" with added legroom?

These are becoming really pervasive on the routes I fly.
I just booked SFO-YUL-SFO, and it's a 7M8 both ways. Other options were SFO-YYZ on a 7M8, YYC-YOW on a 7M8, or YVR-YYZ on a 7M8.

These are becoming really pervasive, period. And with just a quarter of them in service to date, prepare to see them stacked like cordwood at an airport near you.
You can now opt to fly Canada's busiest domestic route on no fewer than three carriers' 737Max aircraft.

Why can't anyone understand how to put their bag in.
It's ridiculous that I'm in row 1 and my bag is above row 3. I didn't even board that late.
The sign is pretty clear.

Many people lack situational awareness. Put these people on a plane and it applies to everything from how to board, how to place carry-ons, how to take seats so others behind in line can board and so on. Cooleddie and I posted photos of bags in the 78M OH bins from our flights. Despite the signs, people did what they wanted.
