Cabin Layout
Interior Specs can be found here https://www.aircanada.com/ca/en/aco/home/fly/onboard/fleet.html
- Window seats may feel narrower to come as the armrests are placed "into" the "curvature" of the cabin.
- Seats with no windows feel even more narrower as there is no space created by the curvature of window.
- All bulkhead seats have very limited legroom.
- Seats 15A, 16A, 16F, 17A and 17F have limited windows.
- Exit rows 19 and 20 have more legroom than regular preferred seats.
Routes
The 737 MAX is designated to replace the A320-series. Based on announcements and schedule updates, the following specific routes will be operated by the 737 MAX in future:
YYZ-LAX (periodic flights)
YYZ-SNN (new route)
YUL-DUB (new route)
YYZ/YUL-KEF (replacing Rouge A319)
YYT-LHR (replacing Mainline A319)
YHZ-LHR (replacing Mainline B767)
Hawaii Routes YVR/YYC (replacing Rouge B767)
Many domestic trunk routes (YYZ, YVR, YUL, YYC) now operated by 7M8, replacing A320 family

Did you see the size of the forward galley while boarding? They have every right to complain about “no space at all.”

Maybe someday way in the future they'll paint one in a toothpaste "retro" colour scheme like the TCA A319!!

Maybe the micro galleys forecast the end of Y hot meal service on shorter TATLs?

I rode the 737 Max YYZ-YVR last week in J. Also had a great chat with crew, and walked around the plane . observations:
- galley and toilet are very small. crew thinks things will take longer because of the space constraint
- J seats are good. i like the leg rest and larger screens
- preferred seats are bearable for long flights. the good thing is there are a lot of them.
- regular economy seats will be hell.

Going to DXB at the end of the month, to avoid the 737MAX, I choose to backtrack to YVR from YYC and fly the 787 instead to YYZ.
No different as I fly to FRA/MUC/CPH to avoid Rouge to LIS!
We all do silly things eh!

A huge annoyance at present as it's effectively eliminated wifi on a major tcon route. OTOH, I'm finding myself enjoying the new J seats and IFE.

I'd say yes. The leg rest, storage space and power plug placement are great, and the comfort is equal as best I can tell (that may be different after a few years of wear of course). In particular, I found the moved power outlet made it much easier to get out from the window, as you're not knocking into power adaptors and wires.
